On The Time-Domain Analysis of the Electromagnetic Transients in High-Voltage Line Towers
Abstract: This paper presents an efficient and direct method for the time-domain transient analysis of high voltage power line towers. A Mathematica-based numerical solution of the governing set of simultaneous partial differential and algebraic equations is proposed. The results of a corresponding computer code are presented and discussed. A comparison with other more sophisticated analytical time-and Laplace-domain approaches is presented. In addition to the possible use of the EMTP transients’ program, …

Improving Highway Surface Course Properties of Asphalt Concrete for Heavy Traffic Loading using Mineral Fillers
Abstract: Failure signs seen on both rigid and flexible pavement as distresses is most often instigated by mix properties of the surface due to many factors. Traffic loading, Stripping or raveling is another possible cause of such effects. Stripping occurs when poor adhesion between asphalt cement and aggregate allows the aggregate at the surface to dislodge. As a result, mineral fillers in hot-mix asphalt concrete to obtain certain desirable properties has …

Optimizing Sampling Techniques Using Fuzzy Set Theory: A Comprehensive Approach
Abstract: Sampling is a critical process in statistics, used to estimate population parameters without needing to examine the entire population. Traditional sampling methods, such as simple random sampling, stratified sampling, and cluster sampling, face limitations when applied to complex or heterogeneous populations with imprecise boundaries. These methods often fail to accurately represent populations with overlapping characteristics or missing data, resulting in sampling bias and reduced accuracy. To address these challenges, this …

Enhancing Compressive Strength and Durability through Optimization of Concrete Mixtures
Abstract: This research investigates how varying cement-aggregate ratio, water-cement ratio, and slump height affect the compressive strength of concrete mixtures. Through an analysis of 36 samples, each representing different combinations of these parameters, significant insights are gained into the optimization of concrete mix designs for construction applications. The study reveals that higher water-cement ratios tend to decrease compressive strength due to increased porosity in cured concrete. Conversely, higher cement-aggregate ratios generally …
