Contact Stress Analysis of Needle Roller Bearing Used in Synchromesh Gear Box
Abstract: The optimum selection of a bearing generally depends on particular application such as to transfer loads between the rotating and stationary members, and to permit free rotation. From among the wide range of bearings available in the market today has various considerations, such as the load-carrying capacity, the life of the bearing, and the working rotational speed need to be considered before a suitable bearing can be selected. Here for …

Finite Element Modelling of Contact Stresses in Helical Gear Systems
Abstract: Helical gears are widely used in modern power‐transmission systems because of their high load‐carrying capacity, smooth meshing action, and increased overlapping of gear teeth. However, the design of helical gear pairs is constrained by contact stresses generated at the mating tooth surfaces, which can lead to surface fatigue (pitting), micro-cracking, and ultimately gear failure. Traditional analytical methods, such as those of the American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA) or International Organization …

Using CATIA V5 R19, three dimensional W-N gear and involute helical gear are modeled by considering same number of teeth, module, helix angle, pressure angle and face width. Then nonlinear contact analysis was conducted on involute helical gear …

Gear-Related Stress Analysis and Comparison Between the Fem and Agma Standards
Abstract: In many different devices, gears enable the efficient transfer of motion and torque. They are an essential component of modern mechanical power transmission systems. It has been demonstrated that bending and surface contact stresses at the gear tooth are the primary causes of gear failure, despite their widespread use. Too much stress can lead to tooth wear, pitting, or breakage, which can ultimately reduce the operating life and reliability of …

Stress Analysis of a Mechanical Joint from Recorded Data of a Single Component of Displacement
Abstract: The ability to fully stress analyze a pinned/bolted aluminum connector, including the contact stresses at the pin-plate interface, using measured displacement information is demonstrated. This is accomplished by using recorded data from only either one or the other of the two in-plane components of displacement. The relatively small pin-hole clearance results in the pin contacting the edge of the hole for an arc distance exceeding 180 degrees. Reliability of experimental …

Incorporating Material Fatigue Parameter Determine in The Rolling & Sliding Contact Fatigue Analysis of Gears
Abstract: As the material's intricate stresses and strains are always shifting during phases of loading, determining the predicted equipment working under rolling-sliding contact loads and their fatigue lives (wheels, bearings, and gears) is particularly difficult. Another difficulty is not knowing the precise characteristics of the material used to make the components, which is particularly noticeable. when it comes to heat-treated components, where the material characteristics' values can differ greatly among the …
