AQUASOMES: A Vesicular, Self-assembled Ceramic Nanoparticulate Drug Carrier
Abstract: Nano-biopharmaceutics involves delivery of biopharmaceutical product through different biomaterials like multi-functional nanoparticles, quantum dots, aquasomes, super-paramagnetic iron oxide crystals, and liposomes dendrimers. Aquasomes are considered as one of the most recently developed delivery systems for bioactive molecules like peptides, proteins, hormones, antigens and genes to specific sites. Aquasomes have a spherical shape and a particle size of 60–300 nm. These are three layered self-assembled nano-particulate carrier system. This three-layered structure …

Studies on the Self-Assembly of Steroids and DNA Mediated by Naphthalene based Amphiphilic Block Copolymer
Abstract: Amphiphilic block copolymers have attracted considerable interest in pharmaceutical and biomedical applications, including controlled drug release, gene delivery, and biomolecular sensing. In this study, fluorescent amphiphilic block copolymers were designed to facilitate interactions with biological molecules such as DNA and antiviral agents, enabling their behavior to be monitored through fluorescence spectroscopy. Two novel block copolymers, poly(methyl methacrylate) - b - poly(dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate - co - naphthyl methacrylate) [PMMA-b-P(DMAEMA-co-NMA)] and poly(styrene) …

Nano-Chemical Revolution in Vaccinology: A Study
Abstract: The development of traditional vaccines, reliant on attenuated pathogens or purified proteins, has historically been limited by slow development timelines, poor stability, and low immunogenicity requiring potent, often non-specific, adjuvants. This synthesis argues that the convergence of nano-material science and meticulous chemical engineering represents the next major paradigm shift in preventative medicine. Nano-materials, particularly Lipid Nanoparticles (LNPs) and various polymeric or inorganic scaffolds, have transitioned from theoretical constructs to essential …

Polymeric Micelles for Medicinal Plant Solubilization and Delivery of Bioactive Compounds
Abstract: This study involved the design, fabrication, and characterization of polymeric micellar nanocomposites utilizing amphiphilic block copolymers to effectively encapsulate and transport hydrophobic phytoconstituents. The selected bioactive molecule is curcumin, a polyphenol with limited water solubility. A polymeric system known as PEG-PCL was utilized to fabricate core-shell nanostructures by a solvent evaporation-induced self-assembly method. The resulting nanocomposites exhibited homogeneity and colloidal stability, characterized by a zeta potential of −18.7 ± 1.4 …

DEVELOPMENT OF POLYMERSOMES AS MACROMOLECULAR PLATFORMS FOR NANOMEDICINE
Abstract: The conventional method of drug delivery is plagued with instability, low targeting and low bioavailability. A solution to these shortcomings is the use of polymer Somes, artificial vesicles that are produced through self-assembly of amphiphilic block copolymer, and they are suggested as universal nanoscale carriers. They have stiff, tunable membranes (thickness = 2-50 nm) due to accurate control of polymer chemistry, chain length, and hydrophilic mass fraction (f), which allows …
