Evaluation of Modified Nanoparticles' Effects on Polypropylene Composites
Abstract: Numerous sectors use nanoparticles and nanocomposites in a range of applications, including medicine, textiles, cosmetics, agriculture, optics, food packaging, optoelectronics, semiconductors, aerospace, building materials, and catalysis. Polymeric nanocomposites, which combine organic polymers with inorganic nanoparticles, are a novel family of materials that perform better than their microparticle counterparts. They should therefore enhance the field of engineering applications. A polymer matrix's characteristics can be drastically changed by the addition of inorganic …

A Sol-Gel Approach for the Fabrication of Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles and Their Nanocomposite with Urea Formaldehyde (UF)
Abstract: In the performed work, zinc oxide nanoparticles were synthesized via the sol-gel method using zinc sulphate as the precursor material. Urea-formaldehyde (UF) resin was employed as a polymer matrix to encapsulate the produced ZnO through an acid-catalyzed polymerization process. This encapsulation aimed to improve the dispersion stability and surface reactivity of ZnO within the polymeric medium. The synthesized materials were subjected to comprehensive characterization using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), …

Applications of Nanomaterials in Membrane Separation for Effluent Treatment in the Textile Industry
Abstract: The textile industry makes a significant contribution to economic growth. As the global population continues to increase exponentially, production rates are also on the rise to meet this growing demand. Unfortunately, this surge in production often leads to noncompliance with environmental regulations. While the textile industry supports economic development, it also contributes to serious pollution. Various dyes, such as azo dyes, Congo Red (CR), Crystal Violet, methylene blue, and methyl …

Enhancing Functional and Structural Properties of Advanced Materials through Scandium-based Nanostructures: Applications in Ceramics, Thermoelectrics, Memory Devices, and High-Strength Alloys
Abstract: This study explores the fabrication and properties of scandium-based nanostructured materials with applications in ceramics, glass, thermoelectric modules, switching devices, and strengthened alloys. Scandium oxide (Sc₂O₃) nanopowders were synthesized using precipitation techniques and subsequently sintered to create transparent ceramics with fine dispersion. Investigations into scandium-doped metallic glasses demonstrated enhanced plastic deformation, with notable tensile plasticity attributed to its unique nanoglass structure. A new scandium-doped thermoelectric material, ZnCdO, was also developed, …
