The Need for Regulations against Abandoned Fishing Gear
Abstract: Ghost fishing resulting from abandonment of fishing gear has remained an increasing challenge in the oceans. A significant amount of these gears is made up of plastic materials; this has caused countless problems to aquatic life resulting in mortality in most cases. One of the ongoing causes of gear abandonment is conflict. Fishing gear is frequently discarded due to the nature of the fishing grounds and other environmental factors, such …

A Physicochemical Analysis of Ground Water from Few Selected Areas of Maharashtra, India
Abstract: Water is one of the valuable natural resource known on Earth. It is important to all living organisms of different ecological systems, human health, food production and economic development. Release of hazardous waste disposals such as synthetic agricultural chemicals, weathering of rocks , leaching of soils, human activities such as littering of plastic bags, used water bottles, mining processes, etc…toxic wastes from various industries in water bodies is a serious …

Characteristics of Fiber Modified Asphaltic Bitumen
Abstract: The quantum of plastic waste in municipal solid waste (MSW) is increasing due to increase in population, urbanization, development activities and changes in life style, which leading widespread littering on the landscape. Thus disposal of waste plastic is a menace and become a serious problem globally due to their non-biodegradability and unaesthetic view. Since these are not disposed scientifically and possibility to create ground and water pollution. Plastics are user …

Sustaining Under Water Life Using Robotics
Abstract: AbstractFrom last few decade huge packaging plastic is been thrown away in city, beaches, sea transport and industries.by the statistics it has found that around 40% of plastic waste goes through landfills, 14% is recycled but 32% ends as litter in the marine environment. When the survey of Earth Oceans was done it found that water contains millions of tons of plastic mostly in the form of micro plastics. In …

Impact of Marine Pollution Threats and Conservation of Marine Biodiversity
Abstract: Ocean occupies 71% of earth’s surface and is traditionally divided into four large basins including North and South Atlantic, North and South Pacific, Arctic and Indian oceans. In India we have a vast coastal area of 7516.6 km from Kolkata to Gujarat and also many islands including Andaman and Nicobar and Lakshadweep with vast fin and shellfish biodiversity. Human interference and both natural and artificial factors pose the biggest threat …

Assessing the Environmental Pollution Caused by the Disposal of Polythene Bags in Damaturu Local Government Area, Yobe State
Abstract: Polyethylene or polythene bags are manufactured using ethylene, which is a gas generated during the production of coal, oil, and gas as a secondary product. The majority of plastics are non-biodegradable and can persist in the environment for extended periods, lasting hundreds of years. Nigeria is facing a growing issue with plastic waste, with Yobe state alone producing approximately 132,112 tons of plastic waste every year. In an effort to …

From Space to Sea: Leveraging Satellite Technology for Monitoring Marine Debris
Abstract: Marine trash endangers ecosystems, so efficient detection is critical. This article describes a novel strategy for improving detection accuracy by integrating YOLOv7 instance segmentation with attention processes. Three models are evaluated: lightweight coordinate attention, the convolutional block attention module (CBAM) for spatial-channel focus, and the bottle neck transformer, which relies on self-attention. On an annotated satellite image dataset, CBAM has the greatest F1 scores in box recognition (77%) and mask …

Plastic Slatted Plate and Conveyor Belt
Abstract: This project is about the plastic slatted floor used for poultry farming. The findings of this study suggest that perforated plastic floors could be a good alternative to substitute wood shavings to raise broilers (male and female) since it was efficient from the perspective of environmental conditions and production rates, promoting a better quality environment and superior production rates. However, more research must be conducted to study the effects of …

Surface Level and Underwater Waste Removal System
Abstract: The paper introduces novel approach for surface and underwater waste collection, impact of water pollution can be devastating, affecting aquatic ecosystems, human health, and economies. Pollutants can harm aquatic plants and animals, disrupt ecosystems, and degrade water quality, making it unsafe for drinking, swimming, and other activities. Waterborne illnesses can also spread because of contaminated water, impacting groups of people who depend on tainted water supplies for hygiene and drinking. …
