Immunohistochemical Detection of c-Myc in Lungs of Sheep with Ovine Pulmonary Adenocarcinoma
Abstract: vine pulmonary adenocarcinoma, a naturally occurring lung cancer of sheep was diagnosed in seventeen cases at slaughter houses. Lung tumor tissues and associated lymph nodes were collected for histopathological and immunohistochemical studies. Histologically, the lung sections from OPA cases revealed areas of non encapsulated proliferation of alveolar epithelial cells in papillary or acinar pattern. Polyploid ingrowths were also noticed into the bronchioles. On immunostaining of lung sections, JSRV-MA protein was …

Cellular Mechanisms of Autophagy in Carcinogenesis: A Narrative Review
Abstract: Autophagy is a highly conserved lysosomal degradation pathway essential for cellular homeostasis, metabolic adaptation, and survival under stress. In the context of carcinogenesis, autophagy exhibits a paradoxical and stage-dependent role. During early tumor development, autophagy acts as a tumor-suppressive mechanism by limiting genomic instability, oxidative stress, and chronic inflammation. Conversely, in established malignancies, cancer cells exploit autophagy to sustain growth, survive hostile tumor microenvironments, and resist anticancer therapies. Increasing evidence …

Orbital Cellular Angiofibroma: One of the Rarest Tumor in Pandora’s Box
Abstract: Orbital cellular angiofibroma is one of the rarest benign mesenchymal tumors and only two cases have been reported. It typically originates from the lower reproductive tract and does not show a gender or race preference. Total surgical resection is the suggested modality of treatment. Diagnosing tumors in rare anatomical locations can pose considerable challenges, especially when they share common histopathological characteristics with more common tumors. In such cases, achieving an …

A Rare Case Of Symplastic Leiomyoma Of Uterus : A case Report
Abstract: Uterine smooth muscle tumors (USMT) are of mesenchymal origin and develop from the smooth muscle cells of the uterus. Leiomyomas and their subtypes are the most commonly occurring USMT’s. Symplastic Leiomyoma is an unusual histologic subtype of Benign Leiomyoma, hence also known as atypical or Bizarre leiomyoma. It is often difficult to differentiate it from Leiomyosarcoma because of its bizarre looking nuclei on histology. However it’s malignant transformation is rare. …

Is Tissue Platelet Count an Important Diagnostic Tool for Oral Cancer?
Abstract: Metastasis is the main cause of cancer-related deaths and a major challenge in today’s cancer management. Although many new therapies against malignant tumors have been developed over the last few years, the prognosis of most malignancies remains unfavorable, once metastatic spread has occurred. There are plethora of studies indicating that the interaction of tumor cells with platelets within the bloodstream is essential during this early phase of metastasis. Ironically, however, …

Comparative Analysis of Ovarian Surface Epithelial Lesions with Corresponding Tubal Epithelial Changes with Reference to Ki67 and p53 Immunostains
Abstract: Ovarian surface epithelial cancers have high mortality due to late presentation. The ovarian surface epithelial tumours originate from fallopian tubal epithelium. Hence, ovarian surface epithelial tumours have good correlation with respect to genetic and immunohistological changes of fallopian tubes, especially fimbrial end epithelium. These changes are evident long before significant morphological changes in the ovaries appear. p53 and Ki67 are two important proliferative markers, and useful to evaluate ovarian surface …

Management of Uterine Sarcomas - Current Concepts and Controversies
Abstract: Uterine sarcomas are a group of relatively rare malignancies with heterologous clinical behavior. Because of its rarity, there is dearth of randomized trials and hence there are no standard recommendations as how to manage these cases. Carcinosarcomas are now a separate entity and is managed similar to high grade endometrial carcinoma, since the sarcomatous element is proven to be of endometrial origin. Now, the major variants are leomyosarcoma (LMS), endometrial …
