Direct Regeneration from Leaf Explants of Petunia, Petunia Hybrida
Abstract: ABSTRACTPetunia is a very popular and high-value ornamental plant in the world. There is a high demand for petunia and hence plant nurseries are a great source of these plants. Owing to the fact that many high-value petunias are hybrids, production of plants through micro propagation is of great importance. As per the literature available, obtaining direct shoot proliferation from leaf explants has not been observed. In our study, direct …

A Review on Micropropagation of Rare Plant Species: Ashwagandha
Abstract: Micropropagation is a technique of rapidly multiplying stock plant materials to large number of progeny plants. Some plant species available in the nature contains few traits of medicinal value. From those species, Withania somnifera is found to be rarely available, having medicinal value and also well in vitro regeneration. Most of the plant species especially like Withania somnifera are having medicinal values and cultivated on land even after their good …

In vitro Responses of Indigofera tinctoria Linn. (Neela Amari)
Abstract: Indigofera tinctoria is an important medicinal plant of South and South-East Asia. These plants showed a low germination rate and scanty rooting of seedlings in conventional propagation. The tender leaves showed callus formation in MS medium with single auxin [Naphthalene Acetic Acid (NAA); 2, 4 Dichloro phenoxy Acetic acid (2, 4-D)]. Lower concentration of auxin showed better result. The explants showed callusing frequency of 95%. Even though both the auxins …

A Rapid and Efficient Protocol of DNA Extraction from Animal Blood and Plant Parts
Abstract: DNA extraction from plant tissues is much more complex in comparison to mammalian tissues and bacterial cells due to the presence of a rigid cell wall. Methods utilized for extraction of DNA from plant tissues can vary depending upon the materials used. It is very essential to obtain the nuclear material (without degradation) by breaking down the cell wall and membrane mechanically. We have used the single protocol for extraction …
