Performance Evaluation of Rubber Crumb-Modified Bitumen for Sustainable Pavement Applications
Abstract: This research investigates the effect of rubber crumb modification on the physical and mechanical properties of VG-40 bitumen for flexible pavement applications. Rubber crumbs were incorporated at varying percentages (0, 8, 10, 12, 14, and 16%) to analyze their impact on penetration, softening point, ductility, and elastic recovery. Additionally, the Marshall stability test was conducted to evaluate the strength and deformation characteristics of the bitumen mix. The results demonstrated a …

Optimization of Polymer-Enhanced Sustainable Concrete: A Composite Approach with Bentonite and Crumb Rubber Aggregates
Abstract: The disposal of rubber tyres has become challenging; on the other hand, the utilization of rubber tyres is also increasing daily in society. The successful use of crumb rubber as an alternative aggregate and bentonite as a partial cement replacement in concrete composites has been well established through prior research. These materials have individually demonstrated their potential to enhance sustainability, improve concrete properties, and reduce environmental impact, paving the way …

Performance Evaluation of Semi-Dense Bituminous Macadam with Crumb Rubber Modified Bitumen
Abstract: This research focuses on evaluating the performance behavior of Semi-Dense Bituminous Macadam (SDBM) mixes incorporating 9% Crumb Rubber Modified Bitumen (CRMB), with varying proportions of bitumen binder. The aim is to understand how different binder contents influence critical pavement properties such as Marshall stability, flow value, bulk density, air voids, Voids in Mineral Aggregate (VMA), and Voids Filled with Bitumen (VFB). The experimental investigation reveals that increasing the bitumen content …

A Review on Effects of Waste Tire Rubber Polymer on Fresh, Mechanical, and Impact Resistance Properties of Rubberized Concrete
Abstract: According to the collective findings of numerous researchers, waste tire rubber has proven to be a valuable addition to concrete, contributing to advancements in construction. Rubber crumb is artificial rubber polymers, such as butadiene rubber (BR). The chemical composition of tire rubber crumb that is discarded can be represented by the combination of (C5H8)n, (C8H8)x-(C4H6)y, (C4H6)n, C, S8, ZnO, and complicated hydrocarbons. Various studies have explored the mechanical and impact …

Comparative Performance Study of Rubberized Concrete and Conventional Concrete: Strength, Sustainability, and Innovation
Abstract: The growing amount of car waste is a major problem around the world, and getting rid of old tires is especially important for the environment. Rubberized Concrete (RC) uses broken tire rubber as a substitute for natural materials in concrete, which is a smart and new way to help build in a more sustainable way. This review paper compares how well rubberized concrete works against conventional concrete (CC). The study …
