Performance Analysis of Biogas Production from Onion Leaves and Cow Dung Compositions
Abstract: Biogas could be obtained from agricultural byproducts; and onion leaves and cow dung is agricultural byproduct abundantly available in Aliero Northwestern Nigeria. This study entails biogas production from onion leaves, cow dung and their mixtures. The onion leaves and cow dung at equal proportions and the sum of their half (Mixture) were poured into three 25 l digesters for experimental investigations. The optimal biogas yields, the component composition of gases …

Comparative Analysis of Kinetic Models for Simulation of Biogas Production from Cow Dung and Fruit Waste via Anaerobic Digestion
Abstract: This study investigates the optimization of biogas and biofertilizer production from cow dung and fruit waste through anaerobic digestion, utilizing various microbial growth kinetic models. Simulations were conducted using the Monod, Moser, Contois, and Tessier models to predict biogas yield and assess model accuracy. Results indicated that the Tessier model provided the closest fit to experimental data, with a biogas yield of 0.45 m³/kg VS, while the Monod model overestimated …

Tensile and Microstructural Behaviour of Friction Stir Welded AL7050 Hybrid Composites Reinforced with Multani Mitti and Cow Dung Ash
Abstract: The study examines Al7050 aluminum alloy composites made by stir casting and bonded by friction stir welding (FSW), supplemented with environmentally friendly Multani Mitti (MM) and cow dung ash (CDA). The study assesses the effects of different hybrid reinforcement contents (0–8 vol%) on the microstructural properties, hardness, and tensile behavior of the base alloy and its FSW joints. Tensile testing reveals an initial decline at 2% reinforcement but a notable …

Innovative Biogas Strategies: Anaerobic Co-Digestion of Livestock Waste
Abstract: The goal of the study is to determine whether anaerobic co-digestion of cow dung can be used to produce biogas and whether adding sodium and calcium alginate directly to natural lagoon sediment can reduce sulphide concentrations. It was observed that one minute of focus Sodium and calcium alginate were added at the start of the anaerobic digestion cycle, which indicates a propensity to lower the system's hydrogen sulfide concentration and …

Standard Manufacturing Procedure (SMP) of Jaharamohara Bhasma Prepared by two Methods
Abstract: Introduction: Jaharamohara (Serpentine) is an important drug of Ayurveda and Unani medicine. In the literature of Rasashastra it is classified under Sikta Varga (group of silica containing drugs). In classical texts, different Bhavana Dravya (levigating material) are advised for the preparation of Jaharamohara Bhasma which enhances its potency. However, no work has been done till date to standardize Jaharamohara Bhasma by two different methods. Aim: An attempt has been made …

Characterization of Plant Growth Promoting Bacillus subtilis (VBKT5) Isolated from Vermicompost
Abstract: Vermicompost is a rich source of nutrients and beneficial soil bacteria which can promote plant growth in various ways. Ten prevalent bacterial strains were isolated from the cow dung vermicompost and assessed for growth promotion of paddy. Bacterial suspensions (3X108 CFU/ml) were individually applied to the pots planted with paddy variety and vegetative growth parameters and yield were recorded. Among the bacterial treatments, better shoot length, root length and yield …

Diversity of Agaricaceae (Basidiomycota: Agaricales) in Dharampur and Kaprada Taluka, Valsad District: A Taxonomic Study
Abstract: The fungal diversity of Dharampur and Kaprada Taluka in Valsad District, Gujarat, India, particularly within the Agaricaceae family, has been extensively studied. According to a standard reference text, the Agaricaceae contains 85 genera and 1340 species. Agaricaceae fungi, categorized as macrofungi, are prevalent in this region and are notably utilized by local tribal communities for culinary purposes due to their edibility. The life cycle of Agaricus is cyclic beginning with …
