Sleep Deprivation and Cognitive Performance: The Effects Of Varying Levels Of Sleep Deprivation On Cognitive Tasks
Abstract: The present study investigates the relationship between sleep deprivation and cognitive performance across various cognitive domains, with a focus on gender differences. A total of 139 participants were assessed using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and the Cognitive Failures Questionnaire (CFQ). The results revealed a moderate positive correlation between poor sleep quality and cognitive failures (r = 0.50, p < .001), indicating that individuals with greater sleep disturbances experienced …

Environmental Pollutants and Biodiversity Loss: Analyzing the Role of Persistent Organic Pollutants in Ecosystem Decline
Abstract: Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) significantly impact biodiversity, with various factors influencing their effects on species and ecosystems. Species in poor body condition, like carnivores and predators, are more vulnerable to POPs due to weakened immune systems and reduced detoxification abilities. Dietary habits also affect the accumulation of POPs, as chemicals biomagnify up the food chain. Carnivores accumulate higher concentrations, leading to reproductive failures, hormonal imbalances, and death, while herbivores face …

Current Perspectives of Prader -Willi Syndrome: A Multisystem Approach
Abstract: Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) is a genetic disorder with multisystem involvement, caused by the lack of expression of genes on the paternally inherited chromosome 15q11.2-q13 region from paternal 15q11-q13 deletions (about 60%) or maternal uniparental disomy 15 or both. It is a complex and contiguous gene disorder which affects the multiple systems with many clinical presentations especially hypothalamic insufficiency. The clinical features are characterized by short stature position, developmental delay, cognitive …
