Study of the response of Fenugreek Seedlings (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.) to some Plant Growth Regulators and Their effect on the production of the active Compound (Trigonelline)
Abstract: The experiment was conducted during the 2022–2023 academic year in the laboratories of the Department of Biology, Faculty of Education for Girls, University of Kufa, to investigate the effects of varying concentrations of gibberellic acid (GA₃) — specifically 0, 2, and 3 ppm — and salicylic acid (SA) (0, 2.5, 5 ppm) as well as the interaction between them on the germination percentage and some growth traits of fenugreek seedlings …

Seed Priming with Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles and Plant Growth-promoting Rhizobacteria to Enhance the Seedling Development of Fenugreek
Abstract: Globally, agrochemicals are introduced to the soil as additional nutrients to increase soil fertility. A broad variety of situations in nature can be adapted by Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPRs), thus making them a potential ecologically sustainable alternative. In addition, they are involved in a variety of ecologically important activities and interact with soil microorganisms both effectively and antagonistically. The growth of plants is known to be influenced by the …

Review on the Efficacy of Ayurvedic Formulations in Diabetes Management
Abstract: Diabetes mellitus is one of the most prevalent metabolic disorders globally, characterized by persistent hyperglycemia resulting from defects in insulin secretion, insulin action, or both. It leads to serious complications affecting the cardiovascular, renal, and nervous systems, imposing a significant health and economic burden. In Ayurveda, diabetes is described as Madhumeha, a subtype of Prameha, primarily caused by the vitiation of Kapha dosha, Meda dhatu (fat metabolism), and Agnimandya (impaired …

Biopolymer-Based Flocculation for Microplastic Removal: Fenugreek and Okra as Sustainable Alternatives to Synthetic Flocculants
Abstract: Microplastic pollution has emerged as a persistent global environmental concern due to its widespread presence in aquatic ecosystems and potential implications for food chains and human health. Conventional removal approaches, particularly the use of synthetic flocculants such as polyacrylamide (PAM), have demonstrated high removal efficiencies in water treatment applications. However, their use is often associated with environmental concerns including toxicity, non-biodegradable residues, and energy-intensive production processes. In this context, the …

Therapeutic Prospects and Comparative Bioactive Evaluation of Fenugreek Seed Extracts
Abstract: A medicinal plant with substantial therapeutic potential, fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.) is rich in bioactive phytoconstituents. The phytochemical makeup and antioxidant properties of aqueous and methanolic fenugreek seed extracts were compared in this study. Phenolics, flavonoids, terpenoids, alkaloids, tannins, and saponins were found in both extracts, with the methanolic fraction showing greater intensity, according to preliminary phytochemical screening. The methanolic extract has higher levels of phenolic, flavonoid, and terpenoid content, …
