Short Report on Surface-Driven Capillary Flow of Dyed Water in Straight Microchannel Fabricated by Polymer
Abstract: In this experimental work, a single straight microchannel of rectangular cross-section is fabricated by maskless lithography, hot embossing lithography and direct bonding technique. This microchannel is fabricated using polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) as optically transparent polymer. Dyed water is selected and prepared as working liquid. CMOS camera is used to record the surface-driven capillary flow of dyed water in the fabricated straight microchannel. This work will be useful in applied chemistry.

Passive Capillary Flow of Aqueous Working Liquids in the Straight PMMA Microchannels of Rectangular Cross- sections
Abstract: In this report, polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) is used to fabricate the straight microchannels of uniform channel widths having rectangular cross-sections. Maskless lithography, hot embossing lithography and direct bonding are the chosen techniques to fabrication the straight PMMA microchannels. Aqueous ethanol and aqueous isopropyl alcohol (IPA) are the prepared aqueous working liquids to study the passive capillary flow characteristics. Total 8 individual straight PMMA microchannels are fabricated in this work. This work …

Optical Recording of Surface-Driven Capillary Flow in Straight PMMA Microchannels
Abstract: AbstractIn this experimental work, a total of six individual straight microchannels are fabricated using maskless lithography, hot embossing lithography and direct bonding technique. Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) is the selected transparent polymer to fabricate these microchannels facilitating the optical recording of the surface-driven capillary flow of dyed water (working liquid) using a CMOS camera catching 25 frames per second with a corresponding time-scale resolution of 0.04 second. Dyed water as dyed working …

Experimental Investigations on the Effects of Channel Aspect Ratio and Surface Wettability to Control the Surface-Driven Capillary Flow of Water in Straight PMMA Microchannels
Abstract: AbstractTotal 214 individual straight polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) microchannels have been fabricated by the maskless lithography, hot embossing lithography, direct bonding technique, and atmospheric pressure air dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma processing. The experimental investigations on the effects of structural properties (channel aspect ratios) and physical properties (surface wettability, capillary pressure and kinetic energy) on the surface-driven capillary flow of dyed water in straight PMMA microchannels is a novel approach in this …
