The Social Media Misinformation Loop: An Analysis of Consumption and Sharing Behaviours among Medical Students
Abstract: Background: The contemporary information landscape is largely dominated by social media, which has emerged as a major source of information for medical students. This study aims to investigate the information consumption and sharing behaviours of medical students in Jammu and Kashmir, India, in the context of misinformation and its growing influence. Methods: A cross-sectional survey using a structured questionnaire was administered to 668 students from 13 medical colleges. The data …

Differentiating Real Versus Unreal in Children: An Investigation Using GIF Stimuli
Abstract: Virtual Reality Judgment is a part of cognitive development. With advancing cognitive development children will develop judgmental abilities enabling them to differentiate realty vs myth. This study explores the development of reality judgment abilities in typically developing children aged 3-6 years. Reality judgment, encompassing both character and action ability perception, is crucial for a child's accurate perception of the world. Existing research on reality judgment often stems from Western contexts, …

Trend Analysis of Long-Term Rainfall Data for Monsoon Season of Kharun Catchment
Abstract: This research paper investigates the trends in monsoon season rainfall over a 31-year period (1990–2021) using the non-parametric Mann–Kendall test. A range of statistical methods were utilized to analyze the rainfall data, providing valuable insights into its temporal patterns and trends. The correlation coefficient, measured by Kendall's Tau, exhibited a minimal positive correlation of 0.004 between years and their corresponding rainfall, quantities. This implies a slight tendency for increased rainfall …

Introduction to Statistical Tests of Significance
Abstract: Hypothesis examination is the process in which we compare between two differing hypotheses. i.e. the null hypothesis H0 and the alternative hypothesis. As the null hypothesis is examined, a choice is either correct or incorrect. An incorrect conclusion can be produced in two methods: We can deny the null hypothesis once it is true (Type I error) or we cannot succeed to eliminate the null hypothesis when it is incorrect …

Analyzing The Electromagnetic Transients and Corona Performance of Long Overhead Lines with Multiple Tower Spans
Abstract: This paper addresses the simulation of the electromagnetic transients developed in an important class of non-uniform high voltage power lines. The resulting information is of paramount importance for the proper planning, design, operation and protection of electric power networks. It deals particularly with long overhead high voltage transmission lines composed of several tower spans which are connected in cascade. The presented approach considers eventually existing localized corona discharges at some …

Parametric Optimization of Aluminum Alloy 6061 Using Wire-EDM for Automotive Applications: A Taguchi-Based Approach
Abstract: Machining hard materials with complex geometries presents numerous challenges, often requiring the use of non-traditional methods such as wire Electric Discharge Machining (EDM). However, wire EDM machines operate at slow speeds, and increasing the speed can negatively impact surface finish, making it a difficult task. The ongoing research investigates the machinability study of Aluminum Alloy 6061 using wire EDM, emphasizing the optimization of process parameters to enhance machining performance and …

Time and Frequency Response of Non-uniform Overhead Lines Under Corona
Abstract: This study presents an efficient and direct technique for determining both the time and frequency responses of non-uniform overhead power transmission lines operating under corona conditions. The assumed-line's non-uniformity is due to the conductors’ sag. Expressions will be presented for the location-dependent line surge impedance and the unevenly distributed lines’ electrical parameters. The analysis starts with solving the relevant system of differential and algebraic equations, subject to the boundary conditions. …
