Impact of Marine Pollution Threats and Conservation of Marine Biodiversity
Abstract: Ocean occupies 71% of earth’s surface and is traditionally divided into four large basins including North and South Atlantic, North and South Pacific, Arctic and Indian oceans. In India we have a vast coastal area of 7516.6 km from Kolkata to Gujarat and also many islands including Andaman and Nicobar and Lakshadweep with vast fin and shellfish biodiversity. Human interference and both natural and artificial factors pose the biggest threat …

Western Indian Ocean and Impacts of SDG14: Life Below Water
Abstract: The SDGs outline a sustainable and inclusive global future. This paper discusses progress toward SDG 14 within the WIO, emphasizing four targets that were set for achievement by 2020. Given that current methods of evaluation of policy-informing lack precision, in this region, little headway has been made toward meeting the set targets, and the attainment of SDG 14 by 2030 does not seem possible. SDG 14.2 and 14.5: Moving at …

Impacts of Climate Change and Anthropogenic Stressors on Marine Ecosystems: A Comparative Study of Coral Reefs, Kelp Forests, and Arctic Fjords
Abstract: The accelerating impacts of climate change and human activities are profoundly reshaping marine ecosystems, threatening biodiversity, and altering trophic dynamics. This study synthesizes recent research on the responses of marine flora and fauna to temperature fluctuations, ocean acidification, pollution, and overfishing, highlighting the cascading effects on primary production, nutrient cycling, and ecosystem resilience. Using a combination of field surveys, remote sensing data, and meta-analytical approaches, we quantified biodiversity shifts across …

Richness of Marine Biodiversity: Ecological, Economic, and Conservation Perspectives
Abstract: Marine life is diverse, from minuscule plankton to the greatest species on Earth. Marine biodiversity is extensive, and this article examines the ecological roles of species in coral reefs, deep-sea trenches, and coastal environments. Ocean life is essential for keeping the planet's environment in balance. It helps control the Earth's climate and provides income, food, and resources for millions of people around the world. Marine ecosystems are home to an …

Life Below Water
Abstract: Sustainable Development Goal 14 – Life below Water – calls us to protect and restore our oceans. It is a guarantee to eliminate pollution, encourage sustainable fishing practices, and create marine conservation zones. By prioritizing ocean health, we safeguard biodiversity and the livelihoods of billions, ensuring oceans continue to support life, inspire wonder, and sustain our planet for future generations. Covering over 70% of our planet, oceans support 80% of …

Punjab’s Wetlands as Inland Analogues of Marine Ecosystems: Status, Stressors and CommunityLed Conservation.
Abstract: Aquatic and wetland ecosystems in Punjab, India, represent ecologically significant yet increasingly degraded socioecological systems embedded within an intensively managed agrarian landscape. Despite their recognised importance, existing studies largely treat these systems using conventional freshwater ecological frameworks, with limited integration of microbiologically mediated processes and broader ecosystem theories. A key research gap, therefore, lies in the lack of interdisciplinary approaches that can holistically interpret wetland structure, function, and governance across …

Oceanmind Systems: AI-Driven Marine Life Intelligence for Climate Prediction and Ocean Ecosystem Stability
Abstract: Oceans regulate global climate systems, support biodiversity, and serve as critical carbon sinks, yet they remain under-monitored relative to their ecological importance. Traditional oceanographic methods rely heavily on satellite sensing, buoy networks, and periodic marine surveys, which often fail to capture real-time biological dynamics at micro-ecosystem levels. This paper introduces OceanMind Systems, an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven marine intelligence framework that integrates marine life behavior, oceanographic data, and computational modeling to …

Mangalore, Karnataka Fisheries Coast
Abstract: Mangalore, a major port city on India's southwest coast, is known as the Fisheries Coast of Karnataka due to its thriving marine business and historic fishing legacy. Mangalore's history, economy, and culture are tied to the fishing industry, making it a regional hub for fish landing, processing, and export. The city's Arabian Sea shoreline supports a large fisherfolk community and vital infrastructure such the Mangalore Fishing Harbour, ice plants, cold …

Environmental Analysis of Marine Sediment Properties From Diverse Ecological Zones Of Pondicherry, India: A Study Supporting SDG 15 For Coastal Ecosystem Conservation
Abstract: The Research regarding the ecosystem examines the impact of anthropogenic activities on soil conditions and water resources in the Vaigai reservoir catchment area, aligning with SDG 15's targets for sustainable terrestrial ecosystem management. The research investigates how industrialization, urbanization, and modern agricultural practices affect soil properties and water resource quality. Physical parameters (moisture content, specific gravity, plasticity) and chemical properties (pH, electrical conductivity) were analyzed, along with soil nutrient levels …

Conflict Resolution and Long-term Planning: A Case Study of Bangladesh’s Marine Areas
Abstract: Bangladesh has a significant maritime area (118,813 km2 ), about equal to its land area. As a result, this vast marine area has prompted Bangladesh to exploit its maritime resources in a sustainable manner, which has been dubbed the “Blue Economy.” Bangladesh's maritime region is used for a number of activities, including fishing, shipbuilding, shipping, oil and gas exploration, tourism, energy, and military exercises. User-user conflict and user-environment conflict are …

Parallel Greedy Approach for Phylogenetic Tree Construction in the Context of Marine Species
Abstract: The rebuilding of phylogenetic trees for marine species shows major computing problems because of the massive genomic data and the huge biodiversity inherent in ocean ecosystems. Traditional phylogenetic methods are accurate but become more expensive when they are processing with thousands of marine taxa parallelly. This article shows a critical analysis of parallel greedy algorithms as an adaptable solution for large-scale marine phylogenetics. It examines the main principles of greedy …

Environmental Pollutants and Biodiversity Loss: Analyzing the Role of Persistent Organic Pollutants in Ecosystem Decline
Abstract: Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) significantly impact biodiversity, with various factors influencing their effects on species and ecosystems. Species in poor body condition, like carnivores and predators, are more vulnerable to POPs due to weakened immune systems and reduced detoxification abilities. Dietary habits also affect the accumulation of POPs, as chemicals biomagnify up the food chain. Carnivores accumulate higher concentrations, leading to reproductive failures, hormonal imbalances, and death, while herbivores face …
