Explainable GeoAI-Based Multi-Temporal Remote Sensing Framework for Early Detection of Climate-Induced Land Cover Transformation
Abstract: Climate change has emerged as one of the primary drivers of rapid land cover transformation, affecting ecosystems, agricultural productivity, biodiversity, and regional sustainability. Traditional remote sensing approaches often face challenges in detecting subtle and early-stage land cover changes due to limitations in temporal analysis and model interpretability. This study proposes an Explainable GeoAI-based multi-temporal remote sensing framework for the early detection of climate-induced land cover transformation using multi-source satellite imagery …

Land Use and Land Cover Change: A Comprehensive Review of Environmental Implications
Abstract: Changes in land use and cover have a substantial impact on environmental dynamics and sustainability. These changes arise from various human activities, including urbanization, agriculture, and forestry, and have profound implications for biodiversity, ecosystem services, and land health. As urban areas expand, often at the expense of agricultural and forested landscapes, the transformation of land use alters ecological processes, leading to habitat loss and fragmentation. This article examines the implications …

Seasonal Dynamics of Coastal Landscapes: A Critical Review Using Remote Sensing and GIS
Abstract: Coastal landscapes are among the most dynamic environments on Earth, undergoing continuous transformation due to both natural processes and anthropogenic activities. In India, particularly along the southern coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala, shoreline morphology and sediment transport patterns are significantly influenced by seasonal monsoons, cyclones, storm surges, waves, tides, and changing river discharges. These factors contribute to varying rates of coastal erosion, accretion, inundation, and land- …

Review of Input Selection Criteria; Comparison of Popular Methods Used in Water Stress Analysis.
Abstract: This paper examines input variables and their respective selection criteria intended for application in methodologies addressing water scarcity. It presents a comparative analysis of prominent approaches utilized in assessing water stress within urban contexts, such as the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM), Geographic Overlay Decision (GOD), and System for Integrated Assessment of City Transformation towards Sustainability (SINTACTS). The principal aim is to scrutinize prevailing input parameters …

Assessing Land use Dynamics and Policies in the Waghur Basin Using Geospatial Techniques
Abstract: Changes in land use and land cover (LULC) are key indicators of human–environment interactions, especially in river basins where anthropogenic pressure is increasing. This study evaluated land use change and policy implications in the Waghur Basin, India, through a geospatial analysis of 35 years (1990–2025). Remote sensing and GIS-based supervised classification with the help of machine learning methods were applied to multi-temporal Land satellite images to create LULC maps and …
