Hydrothermal Carbonization (HTC) Technology for Tire Pyrolysis: A Comprehensive Review
Abstract: Hydrothermal Carbonization (HTC) is an innovative technology that is mimics of natural coal formation processes to convert wet biomass into valuable carbon-rich materials known as "biochar." This process involves subjecting organic matter, like agricultural waste, food residues, or sewage sludge, under high-pressure & moderate-temperature conditions (around 180-250°C & 2-4 MPa) in presence of water. HTC technology accelerates process of the dehydration & carbonization of biomass, thus producing a solid product …

Hydrothermal modification of carbon fiber fabrics by ZnO nanorods for mechanical strengthening of CFRP laminates
Abstract: Hexagonal ZnO nanorods were produced on plain woven carbon fiber using a two-step seed-assisted hydrothermal procedure. By varying the process parameters such as molar concentrations, number of seeding cycles, and growth duration at a controlled growth temperature of 90 °C, it is feasible to produce ZnO nanostructures with a range of morphologies, including nanowires, hexagonal nanorods, and nanoflowers. The developed morphologies were examined using field emission scanning electron microscopy and …

Enhancing Delamination Resistance in CFRP Composites through surface Functionalization of Woven carbon Fiber by CuO Nanostructures
Abstract: In order to produce a nanostructured interphase that improves the interfacial interaction with an epoxy resin matrix, copper oxide (CuO) nanostructures were hydrothermally formed onto woven carbon fibers (WCF). Hexagonal CuO nanorods were created using a two-step, seed-assisted solvothermal technique on plain woven carbon fiber. This study investigates the effects of surface modification of carbon fibers by the formation of CuO nanostructures using a hydrothermal technique on the mechanical properties …

Synthesis and Characterization of Graphene-Based Hydroxyapatite Using Hydrothermal Method for Its Biomedical Application
Abstract: Developing bone implant materials that combine biological compatibility with mechanical strength remains a major challenge in orthopedic research. Hydroxyapatite (HAp) closely mimics bone mineral and supports cell growth, but its brittleness limits load-bearing applications. To address this, a quaternary nanocomposite of hydroxyapatite (HAp), graphene (Gr), zirconia (ZrO2), and ferrocene (Fc) (Hap-Gr-ZrO₂-Fc) was synthesized through a one-step hydrothermal process. Graphene and zirconia provided reinforcement, while ferrocene contributed structural stability and carbon …

Exploring Type-II Diabetes Potential of Phyto-Derived Carbon Dots
Abstract: The integration of phytoconstituents with carbon dots (C-dots) presents a novel and sustainable approach to the development of nanotherapeutics for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). C-dots, zero-dimensional carbon-based nanomaterials, exhibit unique physicochemical properties including high fluorescence, tunable surface chemistry, biocompatibility, and low toxicity. Their ability to enhance the solubility, bioavailability, and targeted delivery of poorly soluble phytochemicals renders them highly suitable for biomedical applications. This study explores the synthesis of …
