Bit Error Rate Reduction in DWT-OFDM Systems using a Novel Error Correction Scheme
Abstract: Proposed Error Correction scheme has been implemented on Discrete Wavelet Transform based Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (DWT-OFDM) system using simulations by MATLAB. The Bit Error Rate (BER) performance of the proposed system has been studied in terms of signal to noise ratio (Eb/No). The proposed system has been examined under Additive White Gaussian Noise Channel (AWGN), and it has been compared with the ½ rate convolution encoded DWT-OFDM. Further, the …

A Review of Works on Reed–Solomon Encoder and Decoder
Abstract: Abstract: This write-up carries the literature review undertaken on the subject of Reed–Solomon (R–S) encoder and decoder. It also provides an overview of the works on R–S encoder and decoder, previously undertaken by other researchers and scholars. It also intends to help other researchers grasp theories regarding Reed–Solomon codes, how the process of encoding and decoding takes place, and how errors are detected and corrected using Reed–Solomon codes. Keywords: Reed–Solomon, forward …

FPGA Implementation of Reed Solomon Encoder and Decoder
Abstract: Abstract: Forward Error Correcting (FEC) is a technique employed to enhance data security & reliability. An efficient coding technique is essential to ensure data security. Reed Solomon Codes are widely used to provide error correction capability against burst error. This paper presents the design & FPGA implementation of RS (7, 3) codes. The design is entirely parameterized and can be scaled readily for a wide range of a number of …

Verilog Implementation of a Turbo Encoder and Decoder with MAP-Based Decoding
Abstract: The most significant achievement in coding theory is the turbo codes which are forward error correction codes developed in 1993. By using two simple recursive systematic convolutional codes in parallel we can achieve near-capacity performance in transmission system which was defined by Shannon-Fano. By using iterative decoding structure near-capacity performance is possible with a relatively easy decoding complexity, using a soft in soft out (SISO) maximum a posteriori (MAP) decoding …

Comparison of Different Modulation Techniques for High Bandwidth Visible Light Communication
Abstract: Visible light communication (VLC) has gained tremendous importance due to its potential for ease, effectiveness and long lifetime. Slow response of phosphorescent components limits the modulation bandwidth of the white LED to the lower MHz range. Different modulation techniques have been used for VLC to achieve extended bandwidth, high data rate and bit-error-ratio within the forward error correction limit. This paper represents comparison of three different modulations techniques used for …

An Experimental Analysis on Enhancement of Electric Vehicle Safety using ADAS Technology and Forward Collision Avoidance with an Automatic Braking System
Abstract: The rapid expansion of the automobile sector in developing nations has intensified road safety concerns, particularly in congested urban environments where human error accounts for approximately 90% of all accidents. This paper presents and experimentally validates an integrated Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) for electric vehicles comprising three complementary safety modules: a Forward Collision Avoidance System (FCAS) employing an HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor interfaced with an Arduino Uno R3 to detect …
