Visible light communication (VLC) has gained tremendous importance due to its potential for ease, effectiveness and long lifetime. Slow response of phosphorescent components limits the modulation bandwidth of the white LED to the lower MHz range. Different modulation techniques have been used for VLC to achieve extended bandwidth, high data rate and bit-error-ratio within the forward error correction limit. This paper represents comparison of three different modulations techniques used for VLC. Extension in mathematical modeling and analysis is carried out for the discussed topics.
