Antifungal Potential of Plant Extracts against Alternaria solani, causing Early Blight of Tomato
Abstract: AbstractAqueous extracts of five plants with anti-microbial properties were evaluated for suppression of growth of Alternaria solani in laboratory conditions. At low concentration of 2%, four extracts including (Azadirachta indica) failed to suppress the growth. One extract (Putranjiva roxburghii) showed significant suppression of pathogen growth at low concentration, according to Analysis of variance, Tukey’s post-test. Some extracts (Melia azedarach and Tabernaemontana divaricata) on the contrary promoted the growth significantly more …

Confirming Therapeutic Potential of Medicinal Plants Grown in Solid Waste Polluted Areas of Agra City against Alternaria alternata
Abstract: The present studies were conducted with an aim to determine the presence of occurrence ofmedicinal plants and antifungal activities of twenty selected medicinal plants from fivedifferent solid waste polluted areas of the Agra city. Achyranthes aspera, Calotropis procera,Ricinus communis shows maximum presence of occurrence, i.e., 10.63% and Eugeniajambolana has minimum presence of occurrence, i.e., 2.12%. As these plants are used formedicinal purposes such as in ayurvedic or other alternative with …

Biodegradation of Plastic Waste Using Various Fungal Isolates from Plastic-Polluted Sites in Meerut: Analysis of Polymers and Composites
Abstract: By isolating microorganisms from a dumpsite containing low-density polyethylene (LDPE), the potential for microbial decomposition of plastic waste was studied. Four different strains of Aspergillus niger (fungus) were identified and used to biodegrade plastic waste. The isolated fungal strains included Aspergillus niger, Alternaria, A. fumigatus, A. flavus, and A. luchuensis. Predominant fungal strains, Aspergillus niger and Alternaria, were selected for polyethylene degradation under laboratory conditions. In a controlled shaker culture, …

A Review of Automated Pomegranate Disease Detection and Classification Using Machine Learning
Abstract: The abstract outlines a research study focused on developing an automated system for detecting and classifying diseases that affect pomegranate fruits. Pomegranates, like many other crops, are vulnerable to several types of diseases that appear as visible colored spots on the fruit’s surface. These visible symptoms, such as lesions or discoloration, can significantly impact the fruit’s quality, market value, and yield. Therefore, timely and accurate identification of such diseases is …

MYCOSYNTHESIS OF SILVER NANOPARTICLES AND INVESTIGATION OF THEIR ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY
Abstract: The silver nanoparticles were formed in contact with the cell free filtrate of Alternaria alternata. The nanoparticles were characterised by means of UV-Vis spectrophotometer, Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX), X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and Fourier Transform Infra-red Spectroscopy (FTIR). The synthesized silver nanoparticles showed an absorbance maximum at 420 nm in the visible range. Transmission electron microgram and particle size distribution curve showed the formation …

Antimicrobial Susceptibility Profile of Airborne Bacteria and Fungi at Owena Market, Osun State, Nigeria
Abstract: Environmental conditions and human activities influence the ubiquity and diversity of microorganisms in the atmosphere thereby acquiring the ability to resist antibiotics which poses serious public threat. Airborne bacteria and fungi isolated using settling plate method from three different points (where kolanuts, meat and onions are sold) at Owena Market, Osun state, Nigeria were assayed for antimicrobial susceptibility using disc diffusion. The microorganisms were identified as Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, …

A Benign Route for the Synthesis of MgO Nanoparticles and Their Antifungal Activity
Abstract: Magnesium oxide nanoparticles (MgO NP’s) with particle size 50±10 nm were prepared by hydrothermal method and further characterized by X-ray Diffractometry (XRD) and high resolution field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). The prepared MgO NP’s were also evaluated for their antifungal activity against Trichothecium roseum, Cladosporium herbarum, and Alternaria alternata. The antifungal activity of the synthesized nanoparticles against the selected fungi was assessed as reduction in spore germination and by …

Pharmacological intervention by natural remedies as antimicrobial agent: A Review
Abstract: Economically significant edible seeds grown and consumed all over the world are common beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). Protein, starch, and dietary fibre are especially abundant in P. vulgaris. When compared to cereal starches, bean starch is believed to be significantly less digestible. In the literature, significant biological activities such as those related to antioxidant, antibacterial, antihyperglycemic, and anticancer effects are linked to the chemical composition of beans. At the genetic …
