Effect of Surface Modification on Properties of Kevlar/Epoxy Polymer Composites
Abstract: In this study, a high-performance Kevlar/epoxy polymer composite was prepared using a hand lay-up technique. The Kevlar fiber was treated with calcium chloride/ethanol solution (CaCl2/EtOH) to enhance the interfacial interaction between the fiber and the epoxy matrix. The optimization of fiber surface treatment and fiber content for the best tensile strength (TS) of Kevlar/epoxy polymer composite was achieved using Box-Behnken design (BBD) through response surface methodology (RSM). Three parameters: CaCl2 …

Effect of Sinusoidal and Inverse sinusoidal Load on the Vibration and Buckling Behaviour of Laminated Composite Symmetrical and Unsymmetrical Trapezoidal Panels
Abstract: Using finite element (FE) techniques, this work analyzes the influence of sinusoidal and invers sinusoidal stresses on the buckling behavior of trapezoidal laminated composite panels (also known as trapezoidal laminated composite panels). The discretization of the composite panel is accomplished by the use of an eight-noded iso-parametric plate element, which has five degrees of freedom for each node. Due to the incorporation of Higher Order Shear Deformation Theory (HOSDT) into …

Development of Bio-Based Polymer Composites for Sustainable Construction Materials
Abstract: The demand for eco-friendly sustainable construction materials has gained significant interest in the development of bio-based polymer composites as ecologically suitable alternatives to traditional petrochemical-based polymer composites. The environmental problems associated with non-biodegradable, high-carbon-footprint polymer composites make their more bio-based counterparts an attractive option that offers both environmental and structural benefits. To evaluate environmental impact and industrial feasibility, a comprehensive life cycle assessment was performed. The methodology adopts optimized bio-based …

Unraveling Mixed Ionic-Electronic Conduction in Lithium-Substituted Rubidium Tetra Titanates via Dielectric Spectroscopy and EPR Analysis
Abstract: Lithium-substituted Rubidium Tetra Titanates with varying concentrations of lithium carbonate (Li₂CO₃) — specifically 0.01, 0.05, and 0.1 molar percentages — were successfully synthesized using a conventional high-temperature solid-state reaction method. The resulting compounds follow the general chemical formula Rb₂₋ₓLiₓTi₄O₉. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis confirmed that lithium ions were successfully incorporated into the crystal lattice without disrupting the fundamental layered structure of the host material. The crystal system remained monoclinic across …
