Enhancement of Flexural Strength in FDM-Printed Components through Taguchi-Based Process Parameter Optimization
Abstract: Additive manufacturing (AM), especially Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), has emerged as a widely adopted and versatile method for producing three-dimensional components. The process involves the deposition of a thermoplastic filament in a semi-molten state, which solidifies in successive layers to form the final structure. While this method enables the production of complex geometries at relatively low cost, the printed parts often exhibit inferior surface quality and reduced mechanical performance compared …

Valorization of Human and Cattle Dental Waste into Functional Composite Biomaterials: A Detailed Comparative Analysis
Abstract: This study investigates the conversion of human and cattle (goat and cow) teeth into bioactive hydroxyapatite-based composites and presents a detailed comparative evaluation of these biogenic materials with laboratory-synthesised (synthetic) hydroxyapatite (HAp). In this work, hydroxyapatite was extracted from human and bovine teeth through controlled calcination and milling, while synthetic HAp was prepared using a standard wet chemical precipitation route. All materials were subsequently sintered at 900 °C and fabricated …

Low density polyurethane based antistatic coating for PU flexible foam for launch vehicles
Abstract: Polyurethane (PU) is a multi functional polymer prepared by using more than two types of monomers. The unique properties of PU come from monomers, thus broadening the applicability of PU in many different sectors. Furthermore, the antistatic property of PU coatings can be improved by the addition of conductive fillers into matrix thus broadening its application in the manufacture of electronic products, aerospace systems and daily necessities and so on. …

Polymer Chemistry-Driven Design of a Severable Dental Prophylaxis Instrument: Leveraging PEEK and Composites for Enhanced Functionality
Abstract: Polymer chemistry unlocks new possibilities for dental prophylaxis instruments by leveraging molecular design for enhanced functionality. This study explores Polyether Ether Ketone (PEEK), a semi-crystalline thermoplastic, in a novel instrument with a severable working end, featuring a tubular structure with internal screw threads (0.5–0.8 cm) anchoring replaceable elements via a threaded mechanism. PEEK’s aromatic backbone, alternating ether and ketone groups, yields a tensile strength of ~100 MPa, chemical inertness against …

Synthesis of Lawsonia Inermis (Henna) Carbon Supported AgO Nanocomposite, Characterizations and Photocatalytic Activity Studies
Abstract: Synthesis of Carbon supported AgO nanocomposite is reported for first time. Henna carbon was successfully synthesized from henna leaf. Bare AgO and C-AgO nanocomposites are effectively made using precipitation method. The synthesised composites structural, morphological, and optical properties are assessed using FT-IR, XRD, FE-SEM, UV-DRS, and PL techniques. FT-IR analysis proved that specific functional groups of synthesized materials. The uniform distribution of the composites is revealed in the FE-SEM. XRD …

Material-Level Degradation of Magnetorheological Fluids Under Long-Term Cyclic Shear
Abstract: The long-term functional stability of magnetorheological fluids (MRF) remains a key limitation for their reliable use in adaptive systems and continuously operated magnetorheological devices. In this study, the intrinsic evolution of rheological properties in a commercial MRF (MRC-C1L) is systematically examined under prolonged cyclic loading, with the aim of isolating material-level degradation mechanisms independent of device-related effects. The fluid was subjected to 120,000 low-strain oscillatory shear cycles under a constant …

Innovative Biogas Strategies: Anaerobic Co-Digestion of Livestock Waste
Abstract: The goal of the study is to determine whether anaerobic co-digestion of cow dung can be used to produce biogas and whether adding sodium and calcium alginate directly to natural lagoon sediment can reduce sulphide concentrations. It was observed that one minute of focus Sodium and calcium alginate were added at the start of the anaerobic digestion cycle, which indicates a propensity to lower the system's hydrogen sulfide concentration and …
