Effect of Process Parameters of Pulsed Current Micro Plasma Arc Welding on Weld Pool Geometry of AISI 304L Stainless Steel Sheets
Abstract: AISI 304L stainless steel is an austenitic Chromium-Nickel stainless steel offering an optimum combination of corrosion resistance, strength, and ductility. These attributes make it a favorite for many mechanical components. The low carbon content reduces susceptibility to carbide precipitation during welding. The effects of pulsing current parameters on weld pool geometry namely front width, back width, front height, and back height of pulsed current micro plasma arc-welded AISI 304L stainless …

Characteristics of PWC-11 in Atomic Reactors
Abstract: AbstractCarbon (0.1%) addition to basic Nb – 1 Zr alloy has introduced carbide precipitation to enhance desirable properties. Precipitation hardened PWC – 11 compared to solid solution hardened Nb – 1 Zr alloys show no appreciable changes by low cycle fatigue behavior, even failure modes are also similar i.e. intergranular cracking. Selections of suitable alloys are considered for resistance to high temperature in extraterrestrial environments and resistant to radioactive neutron …

Characterisation of Plasma Sprayed CNT-Alumina Composite Coatings on Boiler Tube Steel
Abstract: In this research work, the 1.5, 2 and 4 wt.% CNTs-Al2O3 coatings were prepared and successfully deposited on T22 boiler tube steel using plasma spray process. Ni-Cr was also used as bond coat before applying CNTs-Al2O3 coatings. The coatings were subjected to metallography, XRD and SEM/EDAX analysis. The porosity of CNTs-Al2O3 mixed coatings on T22 boiler steel was found to be decreasing with increase in CNTs content. The CNTs were …

Development of Mathematical Model for Tool Wear Rate Using 3-Level Response Surface Methodology
Abstract: Tool wear is the progressive loss of material from the surface of tool in the form of very small metallic particles. From decade tool wear rate was used as major criteria to predict the tool life. However, tool wear rate only measures principle wear, i.e., flank wear and face wear. In order to assesses the real damage to the tool and consider other tool wear like chip, notching, primary and …
