Thermo-Hydraulic Performance of a Double-Pipe Double-Pass Heat Exchanger using Annular Fins and Graphite-filled Epoxy Composite Tubes
Abstract: Double-pipe heat exchangers remain one of the most widely adopted thermal devices because of their simple construction, operational reliability, and ease of maintenance. Nevertheless, their performance is often constrained by the limited heat transfer area of smooth tubes and the long-term challenges associated with metallic materials, including corrosion, scaling, and structural weight. Recent advances in thermally conductive polymer composites provide an opportunity to overcome these limitations by replacing conventional metals …

Influence of ZycoTherm Dosage on Polymer Modified Bitumen and Marshall Performance of Hydrated Lime Incorporated Warm Mix Bituminous Concrete
Abstract: This study examines the effect of ZycoTherm on PMB 76-10 binder characteristics and the performance of PMB-based Bituminous Concrete (BC) Grade-II prepared at reduced mixing temperatures, with and without hydrated lime. PMB 76-10 was modified with ZycoTherm at dosages of 0.05%, 0.10%, 0.15%, and 0.20% by weight of binder and evaluated using conventional and residue-based tests. Increasing ZycoTherm dosage decreased penetration, while softening point, flash point, and elastic recovery increased, …

Numerical Investigation of Slip Conditions in Nanofluid Flow Induced by a Nonlinearly Stretching Sheet: A bvp4c Approach
Abstract: The present work describes a numerical analysis of the steady, laminar flow over a nonlinear stretching sheet in a nanofluid medium. Slip conditions in terms of velocity, temperature, and concentration have been introduced into the mathematical model to capture the impact of interfacial mass transfer on the stretching surface. The problem is modeled to include nanoparticle transportation in terms of Brownian diffusion and thermophoresis, thereby affecting the temperature and concentration …

Experimental Analysis on Longitudinal Finned Tube Heat Exchanger and Numerical Investigation on Parameters that Accrue the Overall Heat Transfer Coefficient
Abstract: The presence of nanofluids ascertained great augmentation in heat transfer. Several works have been done so far to parameterize the properties of nanofluid in relation to augmentation of heat transfer. In conjunction to this, the present work focuses on heat transfer within a longitudinal finned tube heat exchanger with simulated employment of nanofluids. Experimentation is done on longitudinal finned tube heat exchanger and the results were compared with numerical simulations …

Assessment of Engine Performance with Perforated and Solid Fins
Abstract: Abstract Fins increases the heat transfer from a heat generated device by increasing the surface area of it. Fin with holes or perforated fins increases the surface area available for heat removal but also increases the intensity of the air flow, which further increases the heat removal. A two wheeler engine with fins having circular perforation has been designed in the present work. ANSYS 16.0 has been utilized to solve …
