Hematopoietic stem progenitor cells reduce the proliferation of Tregs via regulation of IL-12/STAT4 signaling during chronic stress
Abstract: Abstract. Physical or psychological chronic stress mediates the impaired immune response by inducing the proliferation of regulatory T cells (Tregs). Our recent studies showed that hematopoietic stem progenitor cells (HSPCs) significantly modulated the immune system. HSPCs prevented stress-induced lymphocyte apoptosis, exerting a protective effect in chronic stress-induced immune responses. Thus, whether HSPCs could prevent the proliferation of Tregs in conditions of chronic stress was assessed in the present study. Injection …

Effects of multiglutine during cancer chemotherapy on gastrointestinal toxicity and liver dysfunction
Abstract: Introduction: Cancer chemotherapy causes severe side effects in almost patients by inhibiting various systems including the hematopoietic, gastrointestinal and nervous systems. Recently, glutamine has been considered to improve the side effects of cancer chemotherapy. Calcium and magnesium also have positive effects in cancer patients. In this study, we evaluated effects of multiglutine, which consists of glutamic acid and metal ions such as calcium, magnesium, on gastrointestinal toxicity and liver dysfunction …

Uncommon Occurrence of Gastric Adenocarcinoma Occurring in a Patient with Common Variable Immunodeficiency Syndrome
Abstract: Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) belongs to the diagnostic category of primary immunodeficiency (PID). They are characterized by a heterogeneous group of disorders that include recurrent infections, autoimmunity, granulomatous diseases and malignancies. The incidence of malignancy in CVID patients is around 1.5–20.7% and usually occurs during the 4th–6th decade of life. Non-hodgkin lymphoma is the most frequent malignancy, followed by epithelial tumors of stomach, breast, bladder and cervix. Patients with CVID …

Up-Regulation of TNF-α by Ethanol Extract of Moringa Oleifera in Benzene-Induced Leukemic Wister Rat: A Possible Mechanism of Anticancer Property
Abstract: Ethanol extract of Monringa oleifera (EMO) has been shown to possess anti-cancer properties in animal models. The mechanisms of action of its anticancer properties have not been fully demonstrated. We induced leukemia in two groups of seven rats each by intravenous injection of benzene chromasolv solution (0.2 mL) 48 hourly for 4 weeks. EMO (0.2 ml of 100 mg/mL) was administered orally by gavage, after leukemia induction, daily for 4 …

Carcinoma Ovary Metastasis to Breast
Abstract: Ovarian cancer commonly metastasises to lymph nodes, lung and liver. Primary ovarian carcinoma metastasising to breast is a very unusual and very few cases are described. Literature reports only 39 cases till date. Most common histological variety of Primary ovarian cancer metastasising to breast is papillary serous adenocarcinoma. Metastasis to breast suggests distant spread of the tumour and hence poor prognosis with median age of survival being 6 months from …

Immunology and Immunotherapy of Pulmonary adenocarcinoma: A Systematic Review
Abstract: Lung cancer is the world's second leading cause of death, with an estimated 9.6 million deaths in 2018. Approximately 80% of all lung cancer is caused by non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Due to lack of early detection and treatment, the incidence rate of lung cancer prognosis remains low. CD4+T-lymphocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, and natural killer cells are among the immune cells involved in the pathogenesis of lung cancer. The …
