Effect of Crosstalk of a Proposed Optical Cross-Connect Topology in OXC Switched WDM Networks
Abstract: ABSTRACTThis paper presents an optical wavelength division multiplexed cross-connect topology, which is modified form of the existing optical cross-connect (OXC) topologies. An analytical approach is developed for the proposed topology to explore the effect of crosstalk induced in multichannel WDM networks due to OXC. Factors that affect the magnitude of crosstalk in the OXC are investigated and different parameters are optimized to reduce the total OXC-induced crosstalk. The crosstalk performance …

Influence of Reptin on acute pancreatitis model of the rat
Abstract: Background and Aim: In acute pancreatitis, hyperproduction of inflammatory mediators, including inflammatory cytokines, exacerbation of tissue injury due to microcirculatory disturbances, secondary activation of inflammatory cells in distant organs, and the cascade are the pathogenic basis of pancreatitis severity. Therefore, inhibition of pancreatic enzyme activity, blocking production, and preventing the activation of inflammatory cells is a practical way to prevent the development of severe acute pancreatitis and multiorgan failure. In …

A Numerical Model to Study Effect of Potential-Dependent Influx on Calcium Diffusion in Neuron Cells
Abstract: Electrical activity within the brain rapidly encodes information about the world but for these fleeting perceptions to have a lasting impact, long-term changes in the structure and function of neurons must follow. At the synapse, neurotransmitter reception initiates a number of biochemical signaling cascades in the postsynaptic cells, one of the most important of which is the elevation of intracellular calcium. Early events induced by the rise of calcium in …

Arsenic Induced Oxidative Stress and Its Possible Reversal by Chelation Therapy
Abstract: Arsenic (As) is a metalloid listed in group Va of the periodic chart. It exists in nature in the oxidation states +V (arsenate), +III (arsenite), 0 (arsenic) and −III (arsine). In the aqueous environment inorganic arsenic appears commonly in the oxidation states +V and +III as arsenous acid (As (III)), arsenic acid (As (V)), and their salts. Chronic and acute exposures of arsenic leads to cancer, cardiovascular disease (hypertension and …

Molecular Mechanism of Fluoride Induced Oxidative Stress and Its Possible Reversal by Chelation Therapy
Abstract: Fluorine (Fl) a member of the halogen family is the most electronegative and reactive of all the elements of the Periodic table. Chronic and acute exposures of fluoride leads to cardiovascular disease (hypertension and atherosclerosis), neurological disorders, gastrointestinal disturbances, liver disease, renal disease, reproductive effects, other health disorders and also affects the antioxidant system in the body. Furthermore, reactive oxygen species (ROS)-mediated oxidative damage is a common malady in fluoride …

Anticancer, Bioactive, & Therapeutic Applications of Cannabinoids
Abstract: Cannabinoids, a complex class of lipophilic compounds found in Cannabis sativa L., are attracting significant clinical interest for their multifaceted therapeutic potential, particularly within oncology. This review provides a comprehensive synthesis of contemporary knowledge detailing the distinct anti-cancer properties of phytocannabinoids (such as δ-tetrahydrocannabinol and cannabidiol), endogenous endocannabinoids, and synthetic analogues. Accumulating evidence from robust in vitro and in vivo oncological models demonstrates that these compounds aggressively suppress tumor progression …

Speech-Text-Speech Translator: A Generative AI Framework for Real-Time, Identity-Preserving S2S Translation
Abstract: Different languages have been proved a great obstacle to global communication despite the internet's role in allowing information sharing all over the world. While presenting an extensive number of current solutions, traditional Machine Translation (MT) systems are unable to convey complex contextual information and dialects including "Hinglish". Above all, the voice of the interlocutor is lost and is replaced with an artificial one, programmed to mimic the voice of the …

The Doomsday Clock and Global Health: A Medical Sociological Analysis of Existential Threats to Human Civilization From 1947 to 85 Seconds to Midnight Situating the Biosocial Crises of the Twenty-First Century
Abstract: Since its inception in 1947, the Doomsday Clock maintained by the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists has functioned as a socially constructed barometer of civilisational risk, translating complex scientific, geopolitical, and technological threats into a universally legible symbolic chronometry. As of January 2026, the Clock stands at 85 seconds to midnight, its most alarming position in nearly eight decades of operation. This article adopts a medical sociological framework, drawing on …

A Promising Approach Towards Arthritis: Bacopa Monnieri
Abstract: Joint inflammation, pain, and a progressive loss of function are the hallmarks of arthritis, a chronic and crippling condition that frequently results in disability and a lower quality of life. The need for safer options is highlighted by the fact that while current therapy approaches, such as NSAIDs, corticosteroids, and disease-modifying antirheumatic medications, give symptomatic relief, they are usually linked to serious adverse effects. In this regard, the wellknown Ayurvedic …
