Structural, Optical, Surface, and Gas-Sensing Properties of rGO/Sn1–xZnxO₂ Nanocomposites
Abstract: rGO/Sn₁–ₓZnₓO₂ nanocomposites with x = 0.00–0.75 were synthesized by sol–gel auto-combustion followed by wet impregnation with reduced graphene oxide. The adopted synthesis route enabled homogeneous Zn incorporation into the SnO₂ matrix and uniform distribution of rGO, leading to improved structural integrity and interfacial contact between the two components. XRD confirmed a dominant tetragonal cassiterite SnO₂ structure, while FTIR, FESEM, EDS, UV–visible, and BET analyses verified oxide–rGO coupling, Zn-dependent structural modification, …

Flow Reversal and Pressure pulsation: Innovative technique to enhance flux in Nanofiltration
Abstract: Reduction in Permeate flux with the period of time is the major drawback for the Pressure-driven membrane processes. Concentration polarization and membrane fouling are the two major limitations for the Pressure-driven membrane filtration processes. They lead to the severe flux decline and that need to be controlled for the better process efficiency. The resistance determination provides basis for selection of membrane and appropriate pressure –driven separation process. This paper outlines …

Implications from Mesomaterials: Recent Trend
Abstract: Mesomaterials are materials of larger surface area, specific pore volume, more active chemical sites and high chemical stability. Mesoporous materials are used for molecular filtration and separation by adsorption of chemicals. Mesomaterials remove pollutant, toxic, and carcinogenic compounds from medium by interfacial adsorption-physisorption-chemisorption process. Molecular filtration on other hand is studied from categories produced by nano-maso-composed forms like silanol. Adsorption heat pump is operated by waste heat of solar energy. …

Physical Real-time Model of Diesel Particulate Filter using Second-order Perturbation Method
Abstract: This paper presents the analytical solution of a steady incompressibleviscous fluid flow through a square channelwith circular pores on the wall through which small outwardnormal suction is imposed. The outlet end of the channelis plugged off so that the entire flow is forced through theporous walls. Removal of this plugged end boundary conditionmakes it Berman’s solution [2]. This report has reducedthe Navier-Stokes equations applicable to this particularflow scenario to sets …

H2 Production by Methanol Steam Reforming over Copper Impregnated Anodized Aluminum Oxide (AAO)
Abstract: Hydrogen production by methanol steam reforming (MSR) is easy and simple as compared to other reforming methods using fossil fuels such as methane steam reforming. The catalysts for MSR are well developed and available commercially. When constructing a small or micro reformer, the catalyst often needs to be coated on the wall of the metal substrate. In this case, the bonding between the metal surface and the catalyst layer must …

Zeolite-Y Encapsulated Copper (II) and Cobalt (II) Species as Hybrid Nano-catalysts: Structural and Catalytic Aspects
Abstract: Special properties inherent to zeolites in facilitating the construction of novel supramolecular assemblies by encapsulation of guest molecules (metal complexes) into their large cages can be utilized to use these assembled materials as novel catalysts. These modified solids have the advantages of both behaving as the homogeneous and the heterogeneous catalytic system. In the present work, copper (II) and cobalt (II) complexes of 2-amino ethanoic acid (2-AEA) encapsulated in the …

Concrete Compressive Stress-Induced Crack Analysis and the Main Causes of Concrete Cracks in Construction
Abstract: The findings of experimental investigations into the micromechanical behaviour of concrete under various loading scenarios are presented in this work. Concrete specimens with normal and high strengths were examined under uniaxial compression in constrained spaces. Injection of a low melting point alloy was done into the concrete specimens' pores and fissures. To preserve the load-induced stress microcracks and the pictures from the cross sections of the concrete specimens photographed by …

Dynamic Behavior of Coal Ash
Abstract: Coal ash is deposited in large quantities in the ash pond. It is used as structural fill and for dyke construction. The behavior of ash under dynamic conditions is not well investigated. The present work attempts to quantify some of the parameters, which influences the dynamic stability especially liquefaction potential of coal ash. Several investigations conducted on coal ash suggest that ash fills have low SPT value. This supports the …

ENHANCED TECHNIQUE FOR HYDRAULIC FRACTURING PROCEDURE IN FRACTURED ROCK MASS
Abstract: Notwithstanding the broad hypothetical work about hydraulic fracturing technique for estimation of stresses in rock mass, the experimental work has so far been restricted, particularly on account of its legitimacy in fractured rocks. Much work has been completed about the induced fractures created by hydraulic fracturing tests, however not on the impact of previously existing fractures and joints and their impact. When a fracture has been originated at the borehole …

Carbon dioxide injection to remove shale gas from sedimentary clayey schists
Abstract: This paper proposes an alternative method to the fracking technique to obtain shale gas, injecting compressed carbon dioxide in the subsoil. The injection of a pressurized gas like carbon dioxide into a porous media provokes the removal of existing gas into the pores, provided the pressure of the injected gas is high enough. The design of the adequate geotechnical structure makes it possible to inject pressurized carbon dioxide and extract …
