The Electromagnetic Transients in Mixed Power Networks with Partial Undergrounding
Abstract: This paper deals with the electromagnetic transients in partially undergrounded mixed high voltage power networks. These networks can include several cable sections replacing parts of the overhead transmission lines. The analysis yields the transient voltage and current distributions along the normal and the partially undergrounded lines. Moreover, the results can indicate eventually existing localized voltage and current concentrations within the network. The study suggests an exact direct analytical distributed parameter …

Assessing Concrete Strength Through Substituting Coarse Aggregate with Steel Slag and Cement with Bentonite Powder
Abstract: This study investigates the strength characteristics of concrete by partially replacing cement with bentonite powder and coarse aggregate with steel slag. The research aims to evaluate the mechanical performance of concrete through compressive strength, split tensile strength, and flexural strength tests. Bentonite powder is substituted at varying levels of 0, 10, 20, and 30%, while steel slag is incorporated consistently at 60% as a replacement for coarse aggregate. The objective …

Navigating Risk-Based Approaches in Quality Assurance: Strategies, Implementation, and Impact
Abstract: This review investigates the implementation of a risk-based approach within Quality Management Systems (QMS) as stipulated by ISO 9001:2015 regulations. It scrutinizes the challenges organizations encounter when transitioning to ISO 9001-2015 requirements, particularly focusing on the alignment of conceptual frameworks and processes among stakeholders. A key objective of this review is to propose a refined definition of "quality risk" and "risk-based thinking in QMS" to address the idiosyncratic characteristics of …

Electromagnetic and Dielectric Performance of Polymer–Ceramic Composite Substrates for Fractal-Based IoT-Antenna Fabrication
Abstract: Polymer–ceramic composite substrates play a crucial role in determining the electromagnetic performance, mechanical stability, and thermal reliability of radio-frequency devices. In this work, a polymer-based composite substrate is systematically investigated for its suitability in compact IoT and RFID antenna applications. A fractal-structured antenna is employed as a functional test platform to evaluate the dielectric behavior, impedance characteristics, and radiation efficiency of the composite substrate. Novelty of the proposed reader antenna …

Comprehensive Study on the Mechanical and Tribological Response of Waste Tyre Rubber–Natural Fiber Hybrid Epoxy Composites
Abstract: Research into the mechanical and tribological characteristics of Prosopis juliflora-fiber reinforced epoxy-matrix composites with recycled tyre rubber particles is the focus of this investigation. Making use of old tire rubber and bio-reinforcing with fibers from the common invasive plant Prosopis juliflora are the goals of the two-reinforcement techniques. The end goal is to produce long-lasting, cost-effective engineered composite materials with improved performance. A constant epoxy resin matrix was used to …

Development of a Novel Analytical Framework for Investigating Non-Symmetric Deformation Behavior in Strip Rolling
Abstract: In recent years, the asymmetrical rolling process has attracted considerable research attention due to its ability to induce non-uniform deformation characteristics within metallic workpieces. In this context, the present study introduces a novel analytical framework for asymmetrical cold rolling based on an enhanced slab method, specifically designed to overcome the inherent limitations of existing analytical models when applied to a wide range of asymmetric rolling conditions. A newly developed mathematical …

Live Integrated Facial Observation (L.I.F.O.)
Abstract: A human face is the most influential part of humans that can uniquely identify a person. Using all the facial characteristics as biometric, the LIFO system can be applicable in many different ways. Like in everyday life, the most mandatory task in any organization is attendance marking. Earlier, people used to mark their presence using paperwork but now along with the advancement of technology, this system has also changed and …

Response Study of High Rise Building under Wind Load
Abstract: Wind is a phenomenon of great complexity because of the many flow situations arising from the interaction of wind with structures. Wind is of the most significant forces of nature that must be considered in design of buildings. The characteristics of wind-induced loads on buildings continuously vary in temporal and spatial dimensions. Adequate design of buildings depends on the success in predicting the actual effects of turbulent wind forces to …
