Effect of Fragment Size and Contention Window on the Performance of IEEE 802.11 WLANs
Abstract: Wireless communications is, by any measure, the fastest growing segment of the communications industry. The IEEE has standardized the 802.11 protocol for wireless local area networks. The IEEE 802.11 standard has defined two different access mechanisms in order to allow multiple users to access a common channel, the distributed coordination function (DCF) and a centrally controlled access mechanism called the point coordination function (PCF). DCF is a carrier sense multiple …

LTE-WI-FI Aggregation in SDN Using Direct Concurrent Bandwidth Aggregation Model
Abstract: In recent years, networks are loaded with heavy traffics due to increased online demands with diverse levels of QoSs (quality of services) required by customers resulting in complex challenges for network service operators. Significant increases in mobile data traffics using WiFi technologies use a concept called WiFi offloading which render only fifty percent of the traffic. These help in reducing network loads of cellular networks with optimal choices. Therefore, the …

A Review on Tunnel Field Effect Transistor for Ambipolar Suppression, Higher ON Current and a Lower Subthreshold Swing
Abstract: Modern IC technology force on the ICs design considering more area optimization and low power techniques. We study herein the effect of hetero gate dielectric materials on the OFF-current (IOFF) and ON-current (ION) of the heterogate (high-k/low-k) tunnel field-effect transistor for which the simulations give significant improvements as compared to single-gate devices using an SiO2 gate dielectric. The ambipolar behavior is suppressed and radio frequency (RF) parameters are enhanced by …

Design, Verification and Circuit Level Implementation of a Ballistic MOSFET
Abstract: A drain current expression is obtained for a nanoscale ballistic MOSFET within the framework of Landauer-Buttiker formalism considering intrinsic silicon channel at low temperature. The model drain current is compared with the numerical simulations of near ballistic nanoMOSFET structure. There is a reasonable agreement between the model and the numerical simulation results. This demonstrates the remarkably low value of the subthreshold slope of ballistic nanoMOSFET. Further, the design structure is …

System Level Modeling of ISMB Quadrature Transceiver
Abstract: In this paper, a new ISMB quadrature transceiver system-level design architecture is presented along with its referenced mathematical models and these were verified using state-of-the-art system modeling tools. Unlike a K-TEK’s receiver, it does not suffer from the timing and template matching problems, and it circumvents processing at high frequencies, thereby reducing the on-chip circuit complexity and power consumption. Hilbert transform has been used at the output of the demodulator …

A Review on Mechanization of Process Planning for Automated Fiber Placement
Abstract: Process planning is a crucial phase of the Automatic Fiber Placement (AFP) workflow. It creates valuable and effective system processes centered on working material, composite architecture and manufacturing tools. The existing state of process planning needs a large degree of involvement from the process manager and may benefit significantly from improved automation. A collection of main stages and roles is then drawn up to define the most complex and time-consuming …

Hierarchical Methodology Approach to SOC Design: A Comprehensive Look
Abstract: The design scale of a chip has increased many folds in the last few years and shows a continuous exponential trend. This is made possible by the reduction in transistor size and an evolving process technology. As a result, it is possible to move to SoC technology (System on Chip-A single die consisting of multiple subsystems) rather than a traditional ASIC. This has obviously resulted in an increase in the …

Quantum Behavior of Charge Carriers in a Symmetrical Double Gate MOSFET
Abstract: Our earlier work on modeling of single gate n-channel metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET) has been extended to discuss the quantum behavior of charge carriers in symmetrical double gate (DG) MOSFET. The potential profile in the channel region of DG MOSFET has been obtained in parabolic approximation. The parabolic potential facilitates analytical expression for electric field. The appropriate Schrodinger’s equation has been solved to obtain wave functions in …

A New Approach to the Laplace-Domain Transient Analysis of Non-Uniform Lines with Application to Power Line Towers
Abstract: Abstract:This paper presents a new technique for the Laplace-domain analysis ofthe electromagnetic transients in non-uniform lines with special consideration of high voltage power line towers. The derived partial differential equations governing the voltage and current distributions, as functions of both the location and time, are solved by an efficient Mathematica computercode based on parametric functions. The applicability of the proposed direct distributed-parameter simulation is demonstrated. Theresults are in good agreement …
