Gas Leakage Alert and Fire Detection System Using GSM Module

Abstract

As we know that LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) is a common source of fuel that can be found in every household for cooking and various other purposes but in recent years, there has been an increase due to LPG leakage. Leakage of gas and home fires are the cause of loss in both material and human life. Gas leakage can cause various accidents by suffocation, firing, and explosion. As you can see from Fig. 1 there had been an increase in the number of accidents from the year 2005 to 2017 nearly by 100%. Hence there is a need for the security system to guard us against such leakage. This Gas leakage uses a process to identify the leakage of gas by using many sensors and electronic devices. The following paper presents an economical, power-capable security system. The system contains main devices like Flame Sensors, an MQ-6 sensor for detecting Gas Leakage Arduino UNO, and a piezo buzzer. The Arduino UNO is used to control all the functions. This system also contains a GSM module that is used to give an emergency call to the user. A Piezo buzzer is used to give a beep sound in case of gas leakage.
