Analysis of Size and Shape Dependence of Thermophysical Properties of Nanomaterials
Abstract: A simple qualitative model, named Qi model which is further extended to Bond energy model has been expressed in terms of melting temperature to explain the shape and size effect on Debye temperature ( ) and Einstein temperature ( ) of nanomaterials. It is known that properties of materials drastically change with size reduction to nanorange and increase in the number of surface atoms with respect to volume of the …

Properties of ZnO Thin Film deposited on Flexible Substrate using RF Sputtering
Abstract: Semiconductor materials demand is increased in recent years, due to new emerging technologies. There is need to find the alternate for silicon in electronics industry, as silicon is brittle in nature and has low efficiency, which makes it unsuitable for transparent and flexible device. Zinc oxide (ZnO) is emerging as popular choice of researchers due to its wide range of properties, abundancy and non-toxicity. This work explores the properties of …

Bio-Inspired Polymer Composites for Artificial Cartilage Replacement
Abstract: The rising cases of osteoarthritis, traumatic injuries, and degenerative joint diseases are also putting pressure on the new material that is durable, biocompatible and mechanically resilient to act as artificial cartilage. The normal articular cartilage is composed of collagen fibers, protein glycids and water in the interstitium. These elements provide it with excellent load bearing quality, lubrication and wear resistance. Due to the limited self-repair capacity of cartilage and the …

Turning the Properties of Wastes Paper-Derived Cellulose Nanocrystals for Enhanced Erythromycin Adsorption
Abstract: This study explores the modification, characterization, and adsorption performance of waste paper-derived cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) for the removal of erythromycin from aqueous solutions. CNCs were modified using organic acid, inorganic acid, and base treatments, and their structural changes were evaluated using FTIR, XRD, and BET analysis. FTIR confirmed the introduction of carboxyl and hydroxyl groups in acid-treated CNCs and deprotonation effects in base-treated CNCs. XRD analysis revealed that organic acid …

Polypropylene Fibres in Cementitious Composites: A Critical Review of Polymer Structure, Processing, Interfacial Behaviour and Performance
Abstract: Polypropylene (PP) fibres are widely used as secondary reinforcement in cementitious composites, yet their performance is governed as much by polymer structure and interfacial chemistry as by dosage. This review synthesises 50 primary sources (2003-2025, concentrated post-2015) to examine how PP molecular structure, fibre-manufacturing history, morphology, surface properties and environmental ageing govern fibre-matrix interaction and multiscale composite performance. Isotacticity, molecular weight, crystallinity and drawing ratio are shown to set the …

Investigation of Bio-Physical Interaction and Electrophoretic Properties of Fe3O4/DNA Nanocomposite and Colloids for Biomedical Application
Abstract: In recent years, research on magnetic nanoparticles has gained significant attention. The core concept behind their physics lies in their interaction with biomolecules such as hemoglobin, DNA, and RNA. This study examines the fundamental forces involved in these interactions, including van der Waals attractions, electrostatic repulsion, thermal effects, and magnetic coupling between nanoparticles and biological molecules. To describe these interactions quantitatively, parameters such as zeta potential, magnetic moment density, and …

Performance Evaluation of Green Walnut Husk Waste Extract for Inhibiting Aluminium 8088 Corrosion in Acidic Solution
Abstract: The cumulative call for environmental and supportable corrosion inhibitors has obsessed curiosity in exploiting plant-based agronomic surplus resources. Presented research work discovers the corrosion inhibition probable of green walnut husk extract(GWH)—a normal and plentiful agro-waste—on Aluminium 8088 alloy in an acidic medium. Aluminium 8088, however identified for its corrosion resistance, is vulnerable to squalor in highly acidic settings, affectation trials in several industrial claims. GWH extract act as an ecologically …
