Physiological and Psychological Changes in Aging
Abstract: Aging is a normal process accompanied by a progressive alteration of the body’s homeostatic adaptive responses. It produces observable changes in structure and function and increases vulnerability to environmental stress and disease. Among the elderly population the dependency due to physical and mental disabilities is the major factors responsible for adverse quality of life and health care. Dementia, delirium, anxiety, depression including various cardiovascular functions rapidly deteriorates due to ageing …

Prevalence of HIV Associated Neuro-cognitive Deficit among HIV Positive People in Ethiopia: A Cross Sectional Study at Hawassa University Comprehensive Specialized Hospital
Abstract: Background: HIV/AIDS is a common infection in sub-Saharan Africa which is also associated with neurocognitive impairment and psychological. Even if HAART reduces HIV-associated neurocognitive disorders (HAND) by approximately 60 percentage, over 8 million HIV-infected adults in sub-Saharan Africa will be cognitively impaired at some level. This study aimed to assess prevalence and factors associated with neurocognitive impairment among adults living with HIV/AIDS at Hawassa University comprehensive specialized hospital, Ethiopia. Methods: …

An overview on the diagnosis and approaches in pharmacological management of Parkinson’s disease
Abstract: Parkinson’s disease (PD) might be a mutual neurodegenerative disease considered by a movement disorder containing rest tremor, bradykinesia, rigidity, and postural instability, and second-leading reason of dementia and is categorized by an advanced loss of dopaminergic neurons within the neural structure alongside the occurrence of intraneuronal α-synuclein-positive enclosures. PD is identified where bradykinesia happens along with rigidity or tremor within the existence of supporting features. The diagnosis is clinical, and …

A Clinical Review of Aphasia
Abstract: Aphasia is a very commonest clinical presentation of stroke. Aphasia is a disturbance of comprehension and formulation of language caused by dysfunction in specific brain regions. It can be caused by virtually and neurologic insult that affect cerebral hemisphere. Most cases are caused by stroke, head injury, cerebral tumours, or degenerative dementias such as Alzheimer’s disease.

Case Control Analysis on Neurodegeneration Disorders and Autism in Familial Context
Abstract: Neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's co-occur with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), indicating shared genetic factors. Oxidative stress and inflammation play roles, with an elevated risk of Parkinson's and dementia in individuals with autism spectrum disorder. Antioxidant levels are linked to language and behaviour in autistic children. In the present study, a systematic review and meta-analysis was done following the PRISMA guidelines, reviewing English articles (2002- 2022) on familial …

Cognitive Impairment in Alzheimer’s Disease
Abstract: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a condition that leads to the deterioration of brain cells and is the primary cause of dementia, characterized by a decline in autonomy and cognitive function in day-to-day activities. The cholinergic hypothesis and the amyloid hypothesis are the two main theories proposed to explain AD's multifaceted nature. Characterized by a decline in autonomy and cognitive function in day-to-day activities. The cholinergic hypothesis and the amyloid hypothesis …

In Silico Stability Analysis and Phosphorylation Induced Structural Simulation of Alpha-synuclein in Parkinson’s disease
Abstract: Alpha-synuclein (α-syn) is the major component of pathologic inclusions that characterizes neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson’s disease (PD), dementia with Lewy body disease, and multiple system atrophy. Mutations and phosphorylation of α-syn causes familial PD. Phosphorylation of α-syn at TYR125 and SER129 plays an important role in PD and enhances its partial digestion by calpains leading to its aggregation; however, the exact mechanism is unknown. The present study uses in …

REVIEW ON PICK´S DISEASE
Abstract: Pick´s disease is a serious clinicopathological condition that causes the frontotemporal lobe to atrophy circumferentially. Frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD) is now the clinical diagnosis for patients with dementia who have frontotemporal atrophy. FTLD with TDP-43-positive inclusions, corticobasal degeneration, progressive supranuclear palsy, basophilic inclusion body disease, neuronal intermediate filament inclusion disease, and argyrophilic grain disease are additional underlying diseases in FTLD patients.
