Phyto Biotics in Aquaculture
Abstract: This paper aims to assess the existing knowledge on the use and effects of phytobiotics in fish farming, as well as their potential for broader application in aquaculture. With the rising demand for fish, there has been a noticeable decline in fish production in recent years, which could be a driving factor behind the increasing interest in using phytobiotics in this field. The main factor contributing to the decrease in …

Nutritional Value of Commercially Important Fishes
Abstract: There is high biological value of fish flesh. Usually it is consumed in fresh condition, sometimes in its preserved form. The nutritional value, the look, the flavor and evenbiochemical composition differs. Even fishes from the same species show variations inbiochemical composition according to the fishing ground season, age, sex etc. Theprincipal biochemical content of fish are protein, fat and water. The variations inchemical composition particularly in relation to moisture, fat, protein, …

AIS-based Anomaly Detection for IUU Fishing Activities
Abstract: The future of the Earth’s fish businesses is seriously threatened by the continuous use of illegal or illicit, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing methods, a growing global demand, and deteriorating ocean ecosystem health. The livelihoods of legal fishing are also harmed by IUU fishing. The ongoing efforts to develop sustainable fisheries policies are also hampered by this. In order to manage fishery resources and ensure the safety of maritime traffic, …

Invasive Fish Species in India: Challenges, Threats and Impacts
Abstract: There are 31 invasive alien fish species introduced in India for aquaculture purposes, as well as over 600 varieties of ornamental aquarium fishes. Invasions of exotic freshwater fishes have had a negative impact on fish biodiversity. The estimated annual average production of alien species fit for human consumption amounts to approximately 18.2 to 34.5 percent of the annual average production of marketable fish cultures. Many more changes are expected as …

A Review on Toxic Effects of an Organophosphate Pesticide Chlorpyrifos in Fish
Abstract: AbstractOne of the most potentially harmful toxic chemical is pesticides that are introduced into the environment and used in extensive agriculture practices to defense against disease and pest. Though human welfare have been contributed considerably to them, the adverse effects of pesticides on the non-target organisms like fish are extremely significant. Through impairment of metabolism pesticides hampers health of fish, sometimes leading to death of fish. Among the different group …

Fenvalerate Toxicity on Fish: A Review
Abstract: As a new class of agricultural insecticides, synthetic pyrethroids are widely used to control insect pests. Synthetic pyrethroids have shown to enter the aquatic environment from agricultural runoff or drift from aerial and ground-based spraying applications posing threat to fishes, which are less tolerant to pesticides through direct exposure. These insecticides interfere with the sodium channel of the nervous system resulting in prolonged sodium tail current. Widespread application of these …

Effects of Chlorpyrifos as Inducer for Oxidative Stress in Liver, Kidney and Spleen of Freshwater Fish, Pseudetroplus maculatus (Bloch, 1795)
Abstract: Chlorpyrifos is one of the most common organophosphate insecticides found abundantly in freshwater ecosystems and has been detected in agricultural and fishery products worldwide. The study focused to determine the effect of chlorpyrifos on the induction of oxidative stress in freshwater fish Pseudetroplus maculatus. Fish were exposed to sublethal concentrations (0.661 and 1.32 μg/l) of chlorpyrifos for 15 and 30 days. Activities of antioxidant enzymes and the levels of hydrogen …

Fish Detection and Weather Predictor Technology
Abstract: In the existing system, the fisheries don’t know the exact place where the high density of fishes is present in the sea region and the climate situation of that particular region. So, they are unable to get their required tones of fishes, and many fisheries lose their lives due to uncertain weather/natural disaster. In this paper, we introduce a fish detection and weather predictor device for the fishermen so that …
