Performance Improvement of Nano Field Effect Transistor Based on Zinc Oxide Semiconducting Materials – a Critical Analysis
Abstract: New semiconductor materials and new shapes for contemporary nanostructured semiconductor devices, like nanowires, have been researched as a result of advancements in transistor technology. Because of their unique electrical, photonic, and sensing capabilities, nanowires (NWs) constructed of various semiconductor material systems (gallium arsenide, zinc oxide, etc.) have been the subject of intense research over the past 20 years. Due to its distinctive properties, including high electron mobility, high crystalline quality, …

Productivity of Hydraulically Fractured Calcite Rich Shale Reservoirs Enhanced by Acid
Abstract: The current low oil prices have highlighted the need for enhancement to current production from shale formations. Prolonging the production life and increasing productivity of the fracture network in the shale plays can be a way to improve the economics. Many shale wells, drilled and completed based on current completion strategies, show sharp decline after initial flash production. One of the reasons behind this can be attributed to closure of …

Rectangular Patch Antenna with Dual and Triple-band using Complementary Split ring Resonator (CSRR)
Abstract: This paper presents the idea of a Complementary Split Ring Resonator (CSRR)-based multiband microstrip patch antenna. By etching the CSRR in the ground plane of the conventional rectangular patch antenna, several bands are obtained, thereby miniaturizing the conventional antenna. This article examined and contrasted the results of the microstrip antenna with two, four and six CSRR inclusions. Because of the quasi-static resonance properties of the complementary split square resonators, the …

Design of Ultra Wideband Square Aperture Shaped Microstrip (ASM) Antenna
Abstract: AbstractA compact coplanar waveguide-fed (CPW) microstrip antenna for ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless communication is presented. The antenna comprises a square aperture (24 mm × 24 mm) etched on the ground-plane of a printed circuit board and a modified rectangular shaped stub, also total size of the antenna is 30 mm × 30 mm. The lower edge of the band is attained by properly decoupling the resonant frequencies due to proper selection …

Radon Estimation in Some Lakes and Fraser River Water of British Columbia, Canada using LR-115 Type II Alpha Track Detector
Abstract: Radon activity levels were measured in the five Lakes and Fraser River water samples collected from different locations of British Columbia in Canada. The purpose of this study was to compare Radon activity levels in all six sources of water. Water was collected in air tight bottles and stored for two weeks before investigation. LR-115 Type II nuclear track detectors of 1.2 cm2 were used for recording radon alpha tracks. …

Soil Gas Radon Concentration in a Residential Area of Surrey (BC) Canada using LR-115 type II Plastic Detector
Abstract: Soil gas radon concentration measurement studies have been carried out globally to determine the health hazard effects of radon due to its seepage in indoor air of dwellings. It is a useful parameter for geochemical exploration of Uranium and earthquake precursory studies. Most of the countries, including Canada, have designed building codes to reduce the radon entry indoors. The purpose of this study is to determine radon concentration in a …

Measurement of Indoor Radon Concentration in a Residential House of Surrey (BC) Canada using LR-115 type II Plastic Detector
Abstract: Indoor radon concentration activity measurement has been considered as a useful parameter in evaluation of health hazards due to radon. The major health hazard is lung cancer attributable to radon in Canada which causes 16% of total lung cancer deaths. The purpose of this study is to determine indoor radon concentration (Bq/m3) and effective annual dose (mSv/yr) in a residential building. Plastic detector LR-115 Type II has been used for …

Recent Advances in Crystal Defect Engineering of Semiconductor Photocatalysts for Sustainable Environmental and Energy Applications
Abstract: Semiconductor photocatalysis has emerged as one of the most promising green technologies for addressing environmental pollution and global energy challenges through solar energy utilization. Nevertheless, the practical application of conventional semiconductor photocatalysts is often limited by their narrow visible-light absorption, rapid recombination of photogenerated electron–hole pairs, insufficient active sites, and poor charge-transfer efficiency. Defect engineering has recently attracted significant attention as an effective strategy to overcome these limitations by deliberately …
