Representation-Theoretic Symmetry Reduction and Fuzzy-Grey Optimization of Modular Vibration Systems
Abstract: This paper presents a representation-theoretic framework for symmetry-aware vibration control in modular structural systems. Exploiting cyclic symmetry, the mass, damping, and stiffness operators are block-diagonalised into irreducible representations, reducing the full structural dynamics to a collection of lower-dimensional modal subsystems. This decomposition provides both computational efficiency and a rigorous mathematical description of symmetry-preserving dynamic behaviour. To account for imperfections arising in practical implementations, near-symmetry defects in stiffness and damping are …

Fuzzy Minimum Spanning Tree Problem: A Greedy Algorithm using Quasi-Gaussian Fuzzy Weights
Abstract: The classical Minimum Spanning Tree Problem (MST) deals with determining the spanning tree in a given undirected graph G(V, E) for which the sum of the weights assigned to the edges is minimum. The weights assigned to the edges are real numbers representing parameters like demand, cost, link capacity and distance which are not naturally precise and the uncertainty involved can be modelled using fuzzy numbers. There are several types …

Predictability of Equation of State (EoS)-based Gas Hydrate Models for Single and Binary Gas Mixtures
Abstract: The better models are necessary to design and understand the phase behavior of produced trapped natural gas from natural gas hydrates from subsea environments. Most of the models available in an open literature are primarily applicable at relatively low pressure condition thus making their use very limited for gas hydrate reservoir modeling. In order to produce methane from these gas hydrates, it is important to understand the phase behavior through …
