An approach to adding knowledge constraints to a data-driven generative model for Carnatic rhythm sequence
Abstract: Computational models for generative music have been a recent trend in AI based technology developments. However, an entirely data-driven strategy often falls short of capturing the naturally occurring rhythmic grouping. Guedes et al. [1,2] had proposed dictionary based and stroke-grouping based approaches to generate novel sequences in the 8-beat cycle of Aditala. More recently an attempt of incorporating arithmetic partitioning, as conceived by performers, was made [3] to get rid …

Management of Pakshaghat with Holistic Approach: Single Case Study
Abstract: Globally, the incidence of noncommunicable diseases is on the rise, drawing attention for its prevention and treatment. The causes of Hemiplegia due to stroke can be studied under three categories i.e. ischemic (87%), haemorrhagic (13%). Hemiplegia is one among them, causing physical and mental instabilities. In the modern counterpart, Hemiplegia is the condition where we can find the similarities of Pakshaghat in terms of sign and symptoms. Pakshaghat is one among …

Performance, Emission, and Combustion Evaluation of Chlorella Vulgaris Biodiesel-Diesel Blends in a Compression Ignition Engine
Abstract: This study examines, without modifying the engine, the performance, emissions, and combustion properties of biodiesel blends made from Chlorella vulgaris microalgae in a four-stroke, single-cylinder, water-cooled CI engine. The blends of biodiesel and diesel, designated B10, B20, B30, and B40, were 10%, 20%, 30%, and 40%, respectively. Of these, B20 showed the best efficiency-to-emissions ratio. Although it recorded the lowest brake specific fuel consumption of 0.232 kg/kWh, indicating superior fuel …

Effectiveness of Task-specific Training with Trunk Restraint on Lower Extremity Recovery in Stroke Patients
Abstract: Background: Stroke is considered as one of the major causes of impairments in activities of daily living. The majority of patients after stroke demonstrate excessive compensatory trunk deviation movement during activities of daily living. This compensatory trunk movement limits recovery of the lower extremity. Task-specific training is an effective intervention to improve recovery of the upper extremity. However, there was not much evidence about the effectiveness of task-specific training with …

Factors Associated with Fear of Fall and Impact on Social Participation in People with Chronic Stroke Living in Community
Abstract: Factors associated with fear of fall (FOF) have been well known in stroke patients but the impact of fall-related factors on social participation is limited. The objective of the present study was to assess the factors associated with FOF and impact of fall-related factors on the social participation in chronic ambulatory stroke patients. A community-based cross-sectional observational design was used for the present study. Thirty chronic ambulatory stroke patients (21 …
