Topic Detection in Tweets using Hashtags
Abstract: Data clustering is a common technique used for topic detection and identification in text. In this paper we propose tokenizing of hashtags as an effective and efficient way of generating bags of words for tweets (text messages on Twitter). The document- term matrix generated using these terms is smaller and more relevant compared to the full text tokenization. Tweets from the 2018 Oscars event tagged with #oscars hashtag were collected …

Nonlinear Dynamics of MEMS Resonator with Squeeze-film Damping
Abstract: This paper presents nonlinear dynamic analysis of electro-statically actuated micro-resonator under squeeze-film damping conditions. By considering a single degree-of-freedom oscillator model of resonator with squeeze-film damping effects, nonlinear phenomena are investigated. Numerical studies are conducted using phase portrait and Poincare map over a range of AC voltage amplitudes to predict the dynamic pull-in state. The effects of AC harmonic frequency and ambient pressure on beam dynamics have also been studied. …

Investigation of Supersonic Flow Past a Cavity Using Basic Numerical Techniques
Abstract: This study, investigating various features of supersonic flow past a cavity, uses higher order essentially non-oscillatory Roe (ENO-Roe) method as the numerical method that solves full compressible Navier-Stokes equation in two dimensions. The turbulence effect is modelled considering 3% level of turbulence and by imposing the turbulent gust. It is seen that vortex shedding, which is a small scale phenomenon compared to other features of the flow, has been properly …

Identification of Diabetic Foot Ulcer by Using Filter and Pixel Classification Methods
Abstract: Ulceration of the foot in diabetes is common and disabling and frequently leads to amputation of the leg. Mortality is high and healed ulcers often recur. The pathogenesis of foot ulceration is complex, clinical presentation variable, and management requires early expert assessment. Interventions should be directed at infection, peripheral ischaemia, and abnormal pressure-loading caused by peripheral neuropathy and limited joint mobility. Despite treatment, ulcers readily become chronic wounds. Diabetic foot …
