Binary Shape Segmentation and Classification using Coordination Number (CN)*
Abstract: We proposed a novel, micro-structures, shape-preserving local descriptor for contour-segmentation- based binary object classification and recognition, named local coordination number count (LCNC). In this method, we formulate the problem by estimating the 8-neighbourof each binary object pixel. In the matching stage, we used Euclidean distance between eigenvalues corresponding to correlation coefficient and the dynamic programming to find out the optimal correspondence between boundary smoothness of two shapes. Experimental results obtained …

Recognition and Classification of Clothing Pattern and Color
Abstract: Choosing clothes with complex patterns and colors is a challenging task for visually impaired and blind people. The automatic clothing pattern and color recognition is also a challenging problem due to the large intra-class variation, rotation, scaling and illumination. Here, we recognize clothing patterns in four categories (plaid, striped, pattern-less, and irregular), and identify 11 clothing colors (red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple, pink, black, grey, and white). The …

Changing Classrooms Learning In This Constructivistic World
Abstract: The constructivist view of learning clicks in our mind a variety of different teaching practices. It encourages students to use active techniques (i.e. projects, experiments, real-world problem solving etc.) to create new construction of knowledge. It shows and talks about their own process of constructing and understanding. The teacher ensures he/she understands the students' preexisting conceptions, and guides the activity to address them and then build on them. This paper …
