Social Determinant in Health : Epidemiological study of communicable diseases, Demography and Mortality rate.
Abstract: Introduction: Social Determinants of Health (SDH) significantly influence the spread and prevalence of communicable diseases. Factors such as poverty, income inequality, healthcare access, education, employment, location, and social connections shape disease transmission within populations. Additional factors like age, gender, migration, and urbanization further explain the relationship between SDH and public health. Mortality rates, including life expectancy, infant mortality, and access to clean water and sanitation, are deeply affected by these …

Epidemiology of Stomach Cancer in Northeastern States of India: Focusing on Nagaland and the Effectiveness of Screening Programs
Abstract: Stomach cancer represents a critical public health burden in northeastern India, with Nagaland exhibiting the highest age-standardized incidence rate in the country - nearly triple the national average. This elevated risk profile stems from multiple factors including traditional dietary practices (high consumption of smoked meats and fermented foods), widespread Helicobacter pylori infection (affecting approximately 70% of adults), prevalent tobacco/alcohol use, and limited healthcare infrastructure. Despite demonstrated success of endoscopic screening …

Advances In HIV Research: Epidemiology, Pathogenesis, And Emerging Therapeutic Strategies
Abstract: Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) remains a critical global health concern, infecting millions of individuals each year. The introduction of antiretroviral therapy (ART) has markedly improved disease outcomes by suppressing viral replication, restoring immune function, and extending patient longevity. Despite these advances, the complete eradication of HIV is hindered by the persistence of viral reservoirs, the emergence of drug-resistant strains, and disparities in healthcare accessibility. This review summarizes key developments in …

Air Pollution and Immune Disorders in Women from Urban Punjab: A Clinical and Epidemiological Study
Abstract: Background: Urban Punjab, particularly cities like Ludhiana, Amritsar, and Jalandhar, experiences some of the highest air pollution levels in India due to industrial activity, vehicular emissions, and agricultural practices. Despite this, gender-specific health impacts—especially related to immune function—remain inadequately studied. Objective of the study is to investigate the relationship between air pollution exposure and immune-related disorders in women residing in urban Punjab. A cross-sectional study was conducted from 2022 to …

Monkeypox Virus (MPXV): Epidemiology, Pathogenesis, and Control Strategies: Exploring the Recent Resurgence of Monkeypox, Its Transmission Dynamics, Clinical Manifestations, and Public Health Responses
Abstract: Monkeypox virus (MPXV) has re-emerged as a significant public health concern, with increasing cases reported worldwide. This zoonotic virus, primarily endemic to Central and West Africa, has demonstrated the potential for human-to-human transmission, leading to outbreaks in non-endemic regions. Unlike smallpox, which was eradicated through mass vaccination, monkeypox continues to persist due to the lack of widespread immunity and effective antiviral treatments. The resurgence of MPXV in recent years, particularly …

Live Epidemiological Tracking of COVID-19 in Senegalese Participants of the Hajj
Abstract: Background: Since the COVID-19 outbreak, global efforts have focused on controlling the disease. However, intense cross border movements pose a risk for the emergence of new SARS-CoV-2 strains. A recent example is the detection of cases among the 2024 Senegalese pilgrims returning from Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Investigations of these cases have revealed genomic evolution of the virus. The lack of surveillance may lead to the emergence of high-threat strains. This …
