Response of Sea Water Immersed GFRP Composite to Thermal Shock
Abstract: The work involves examining the effects of sea water immersion and temperature fluctuations, precisely that of up and down thermal shocks (lower to higher and vice-versa), on the glass fiber /epoxy laminated composites. These effects are studied in terms of sea water absorption, degradation in inter laminar shear strength (ILSS), alternations in the glass transition temperature (Tg) as compared to the untreated samples and finally listing up of the mode …

Investigating the Influence of Changing Climate Patterns on Seasonal Water Availability Within Transboundary River Systems
Abstract: Climate change is significantly altering hydrological systems, particularly in transboundary river basins, which are crucial for regional economies, ecosystems, and human well-being. Variations in precipitation patterns, temperature fluctuations, and altered snowmelt are increasing the unpredictability of seasonal water availability, intensifying risks of both water scarcity and flooding. These shifts pose severe challenges to water management, often leading to disputes and complicating regional cooperation among riparian nations. This study investigates the …

Corrosion inhibitors of steel applicable by green but toxics
Abstract: Inhibitors in detergent and alkali based chemicals are used in various media for steels. Toxicity has induced pharmaceutical compounds as better inhibitors to restrict pollutant gases emissions after reaction with alkaline inhibitors. Green in origin inhibitors are toxin free to use with detergents for inhibition of both pollutant gases and corrosion of processing machineries made of metals. Eco-friendly inhibitors have appeared for steel corrosion being embedded in concrete i.e. alkaline …

A Remote Sensing Approach for Monitoring Seasonal Variations in the Water Quality of Lake Guaiba, Southern Brazil
Abstract: Freshwater resources in the tropics are subjected to high rate of pollution due to algal blooms during the summer and due to particulate and organic waste discharge from urban areas during spring. Landsat TM images were used to calculate biochemical oxygen demand and turbidity of Lake Guaiba in Southern Brazil during 2010–2011. The results obtained were compared with the values derived from a yearlong sampling data which were analyzed in …

Well Injectivity Management during Geological Carbon Sequestration Activity
Abstract: It is well known that the saline aquifer formations are considered very reliable candidates for carbon sequestration because of their wide availability and they have good storage capacity. Due to high formation salinity, there a big concern about bore formation dry-out resulting from the salt precipitation in the form of halite (NaCl). The mutual solubility between CO2 and brine is responsible for creating the salt deposits, this processes may take …

Integrated Remote Sensing Indices for Assessing Pre-Monsoon Water Scarcity Vulnerability in a Semi-Arid Coastal Ecosystem: A Case Study of Barda Wildlife Sanctuary, Gujarat, India
Abstract: Freshwater availability fundamentally shapes the structure and function of dryland ecosystems, where evapotranspiration exceeds precipitation for most of the year. Protected areas in semiarid regions face intensifying hydrological stress from climate variability, growing wildlife populations, and resident human communities, yet systematic spatial assessments of water scarcity remain scarce for many critical habitats. The Barda Wildlife Sanctuary in coastal Gujarat, India, has recently become a secondary home for the endangered Asiatic …

Analysis of the Impact of Seabed Earthquakes on Coastal Structures and Foundation Design
Abstract: Earthquakes in the seabed occur with varying magnitudes. Seabed earthquakes cause a rapid rise in water levels, which can lead to flooding and structural damage. Therefore, when designing buildings near the seashore, it is essential to account for the additional load on columns due to water thrust. Earthquakes occurring at the seabed generate intense ground acceleration of varying magnitudes, significantly affecting water levels and inducing destructive flooding along coastal regions. …

Cenosphere Based No Aggregate Floating Concrete
Abstract: Concrete is an excellent building material, used widely around the world, but the only disadvantage of concrete is that it has self-weight. This self-weight does not allow concrete to be used in light-weight structures. In this work, mix design is prepared in such a manner that density of concrete is less than that of water and hence concrete can float on water and therefore it is termed as floating concrete. …
