Diversity and Evenness Measures of Insects Inhabiting Calotropis procera from four Study Areas of North 24 Parganas and Hooghly District of the State West Bengal

Abstract

The α-diversity found at Ichhapore, North 24 Parganas, near site of human interference, is moderate in number (20 different species) compared to other sites on same plant. Here 3 eudominant, 5 dominant, 7 subdominant, 5 recedent and 0 subrecedent species were found. The cause of eudominance of 3 species may be for adaptation for every environment. From the comparison of different β-diversity indices show high value in data collected from Agarpara and Chandannagar may be because of less pollution and minimum human interference compared to Ichhapore.
