Carica papaya Assisted Biosynthesis of Silver Nanoparticles with Antimicrobial Activity
Abstract: Nanoparticles are used immensely due to its small size, orientation, physical properties, which are reportedly shown to change the performance of any other material which is in contact with these tiny particles. These particles can be prepared easily by different chemical, physical, and biological approaches. But the biological approach is the most emerging approach of preparation, because, this method is easier than the other methods, ecofriendly and less time consuming. …

Sodium Fluoride Enhances T2 Bacteriophage Yield
Abstract: Sodium Fluoride is a strong stimulator of the adenylate cyclase enzyme both in eucaryotic and in procaryotic cells. Stimulation of adenylate cyclase produces cAMP and increases the metabolic activity of bacterial cells by methods that are as yet not completely understood. The addition of either sodium chloride or sodium bromide to bacteriological growth medium moderately affects the growth rate of E. coli cells after 2 h of exposure while the …

Regenerative Medicine: Areas of Opportunities and Inter-related Challenges
Abstract: Regenerative medicine and Human tissue engineering are the emerging fields in medicine. The concept of regenerative medicine is a promising multidisciplinary field to develop the way to advance the health and quality of life by restoring, maintaining or enhancing tissue and functions of the organs. They are such biomaterials that will provide the self-repairing of the damaged tissues and it assures for the improved treatment for the patients, faster recovery …

Effect of Dimethyl Sulfoxide Extract on Different Parts of a Medicinal Plant:Euphorbia hirta L. Against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus
Abstract: Euphorbia hirta has been widely used by tribal as traditional medicine in the treatment against infectious pathogens. Euphorbia hirta Linn. is a perennial herb belonging to the family Euphorbiaceae. It is a potent medicinal plant and has established its sedative and anxiolytic activity. It has analgesic, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, antidepressant for blood pressure, antihypertensive and antioxidant properties. Effect of dimethyl sulfoxide extract on different parts (leaf, bud and stem) of Euphorbia …

Studies on the Growth Promoting Effects of Coconut Leaf Vermiwash on the Germination of Black Gram (Vigna mungo L.)
Abstract: Coconut leaf vermiwash (CLV) was produced from actively vermicomposting coconut leaf litter + cow dung substrate (5:1 W/W) basis by Eudrilus fetida. It significantly increased the growth of Vigna mungo at 1:5, 1:10, and 1:20 dilution in trails. Increases the growth was recorded at 1:5 dilution of coconut leaf vermiwash. Increasing the population of the soil microorganisms, particularly plant beneficial ones, and their activities which would have facilitated increased uptake …

Garlic and Onion Extracts Enhance the Yield of T2 Bacteriophage in E. coli
Abstract: It has been demonstrated that garlic and some of its components have anti-bacterial and/or anti-viral activity for viruses of humans in vitro. Increasing concentrations of garlic extract have no effect on the replication of E. coli cultured in nutrient broth. Increasing concentrations of garlic extract inhibit the replication of T4 Bacteriophage in E. coli but, surprisingly, E. coli cells treated with garlic extract produced a yield of T2 Bacteriophage up …
