Development and Applications of a Simple Chalcone- Based Low Molecular Weight Ligand for Treating Nosocomial Infections due to Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coliBy Kanhaiya M Dadure, Animeshchandra G M Haldar, Debarshi Kar Mahapatra
Abstract: Abstract Inspired from the available biological data of several imperative therapeutic scaffolds in several medicinal chemistry databases, thiophene-containing chalcone compounds were identified and the molecule was designed for treating various nosocomial infections. In one of the recent rational exploration, (E)-3-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1-(thiophen-2-yl)prop-2-en-1-one was synthesized in a single-step reaction, characterized comprehensively by using a few sophisticated spectroscopic instruments such as FT-IR spectroscopy, mass spectroscopy, and 1H-NMR spectroscopy, as well as CHN analyzer, and …

Formulating Pure Natural Polyherbal Hair Dye Preparation for Improved Coloring and Superior Protection Attributes as Compared to Marketed ProductsBy Kavita R. R Pandey, Ruchita G. Lanje, Jagdish R. Baheti, Debarshi Kar Mahapatra
Abstract: AbstractThe commercial synthetic hair dyes include permanent coloring agents like amino compounds (meta-aminophenol, 4-amino-2-hydroxytoluene, etc.), aromatic diamine, polycompounds (para-phenylenediamine), hydric phenols, etc. that precipitates several adverse effects like erythema, skin irritation, skin cancer, loss or damage of hair, etc. In the traditional systems of medicines like Unani, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, and Siddha, the recommended hair dyes are wholly based on plant materials (extracts) and metal oxides (iron oxide, titanium dioxide, etc.). …

Benzimidic Acid Derivatives as Potential Anti-Escherichia coli Agent for Preventing Nosocomial InfectionsBy Kavita Rajesh Pandey, Sudarshan Eknath Behere, Jagdish Radheshyam Baheti, Debarshi Kar Mahapatra
Abstract: Based on the global fame of benzimidic acid/benzoic acid derivatives in exhibiting antimicrobial activities against a variety of pathogens (particularly nosocomial infections), two novel compounds (S1 and S2) of benzimidic acid scaffold were rationally designed from a hydrazine derivative and fabricated using the conventional synthesis technique. Through sophisticated instruments, the molecules were comprehensively characterized and investigated for antibacterial activity against pathogenic Escherichia coli strain (MTCC 2961). The novel benzimidic compound …

Hydroxylated Chalcone Derivatives as Future Aldose Reductase Inhibitors: Discovery through Docking TechniqueBy Santosh S. Chhajed, Neha A. Salunke, Animeshchandra G.M. Haldar, Kanhaiya M. Dadure, Debarshi Kar Mahapatra
Abstract: The research endeavors molecular docking assisted exploration of ALR inhibitory perspectives of some B-ring substituted hydroxyl group (A-ring) containing chalcone compounds against human aldose reductase in complex with NADP+ and the inhibitor IDD594 (PDB ID: 1US0) by utilizing the iGEMDOCK (Genetic Evolutionary Method for Molecular Docking) software. The present investigation immensely focused on the human aldose reductase inhibitory perspectives of some hydroxylated chalcone compounds. The inhibition of the enzyme by …
