Composite Behavior of Bagasse Ash Stabilized Expansive Soil with Sodium Benzophenone Under Curing Conditions
Abstract: The present investigation examines the development of a hybrid composite using Black Cotton (BC) soil, Bagasse Ash (BA), and Sodium Benzophenone (SBP) as performance-enhancing elements. Different ratios of BA, a silica-rich agro-industrial by-product, were added to improve pozzolanic reactivity and particle size distribution (0%, 6%, and 12%). SBP was added in the range of 0–0.6% as a compatibilizer in order to enhance interfacial adhesion, particle cohesivity and moisture-assisted deterioration resistance. …

Optimization of Fly Ash and Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (FA-GBFS) Mixes for Flexible Pavements
Abstract: This study investigates the compaction, strength, and permeability characteristics of fly ash (FA) stabilized with granulated blast furnace slag (GBFS) to determine the optimal mix proportions for geotechnical applications. Standard Proctor compaction, unconfined compressive strength (UCS), California Bearing Ratio (CBR), and permeability tests were conducted on FA-GBFS mixtures, with GBFS content varying from 10 to 50% by dry weight. The results indicate that increasing GBFS content enhances the maximum dry …

Evaluation of Indirect Tensile Strength and Unconfined Compressive Strength of Cement Treated Granular Subbase with Copper Slag
Abstract: This study investigates the mechanical properties of Cement Treated Granular Subbase (CTGSB) with the inclusion of copper slag as a partial replacement material. The research focuses on evaluating the Indirect Tensile Strength (ITS) and Unconfined Compressive Strength (UCS) to assess the material's suitability for road construction. Various mix proportions of copper slag were analyzed to determine their effect on strength development. The results revealed that the ITS increased from 0.79 …

Impact of Red Stone Dust and Polymer Fabric in Enhancing the Properties of Black Cotton Soil
Abstract: To enhance the mechanical properties of problematic black cotton soil, engineers are focusing on reinforcing the soil with geosynthetic materials. This attention is particularly directed towards improving the strength characteristics of black cotton soil, given its inherent challenges associated with volume changes and plasticity. In this comprehensive study, red stone dust waste is introduced in varying percentages ranging from 5% to 35% to stabilize the black cotton soil. The goal …
