Experimental and Simulation Study on Reduction Kinetics of Magnetite Ore by using Hydrogen
Abstract: In the present work, magnetite ore fines pellets were prepared for a study of reduction kinetics using hydrogen gas. In the present work, various parameters are investigated to assess their influence on reduction kinetics with respect to hydrogen utilisation. The different input variables influence the process, yielding the reduction fraction. The effect of temperature on reduction kinetics with hydrogen flow rate was explored for the optimum value of these parameters. …

Modeling and Simulation of Radiative MHD Casson-Type Polymer Composite Flow over a Porous Wedge with Variable Thermal Source and Sink
Abstract: This study presents a numerical investigation of the radiative magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow and heat transfer characteristics of a Casson-type polymer fluid over a moving and extending porous wedge under the influence of a spatially varying heat source and sink. The Casson fluid model, representing a class of viscoplastic polymeric materials, is analyzed within the MHD framework to explore the combined effects of magnetic field intensity, rheological behavior, and porous medium …

Accuracy Improvement for Propeller Cavitation Noise Prediction Using UDF
Abstract: Recently, there has been an increase in demand for propulsion systems with higher hydrodynamic performance and lower underwater-radiated noise, as environmental issues are gaining more attention in addition to the traditional military necessity. It is important to reduce cavitation noise when designing propellers of the ships, especially for oceanographic research vessels because they use acoustic instruments and cavitation noise can interfere with their operation. It is well known that, when …

Analysis and Application of Mathematical Modeling in Malaria Disease Control
Abstract: In this paper, we develop a mathematical model to analyze malaria transmission dynamics, as malaria is an infectious disease caused by the spread of progenitor parasites to humans through the bite of the female Anopheles mosquito. Mathematical models have long served as a framework for understanding and managing the impact of malaria, which has affected populations for over a century. Our model incorporates infected individuals who may recover and later …

Time History Analysis of Subway Tunnel Under Internal Blast Loading
Abstract: The primary objective of this study is to investigate the effect of surrounding ground media over the structural responses of tunnel lining under internal blast loading. For this purpose, time history analysis of tunnel is carried out using Explicit Dynamic Analysis in ABAQUS and blast load is modelled using CONWEP technique. The structural responses are recorded in terms of stress and strain of tunnel lining at the apex point of …

Numerical Simulation of Crack Growth in Dynamic Loading Conditions
Abstract: Because it is crucial for forecasting structural failures in engineering applications, crack formation in materials under dynamic loading circumstances has become a crucial study topic. In this work, finite element methods (FEM) are used to numerically simulate fracture propagation in dynamic stress situations. The impact of loading rates, material characteristics, and crack geometries on crack growth patterns are assessed in a thorough parametric research. The work uses sophisticated computational methods …

Analyzing Cavitation in Marine Propeller: A Computational Approach with Consideration for Polymer Applications
Abstract: A major source of noise and blade damage in marine propellers is because of the phenomenon of hydrodynamic cavitation. The Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis approach is employed for the prediction of the cavitating propeller’s performance characteristics under various conditions of operation with the advance coefficient (J) ranging from 0.55 to 0.91 and cavitation number (σ) in the range of 0.80 to 4.50. The numerical simulation is performed on INSEAN …

Fluent Simulation & Analysis of Earth Heat Exchanger with Air as a Cooling Medium
Abstract: Because of the temperatures differential between the environment and the subsurface, an Earth Air Tube Heat Exchanger (EATHE) uses the thermal energy of the ground for air conditioners in the winter and air cooling in the summer. Everyone can lower the amount of energy needed for space heating or cooling with the aid of EATHE. However, it is challenging to create precise energy simulations and designs for calculating surface heat …
