Comparative Evaluation of Dodders, Giloy, Onion Peels and Fruit Waste-Prepared Composite Biochar Polymeric Adsorbent (CBPA) For Use in Wastewater Treatment
Abstract: Due to pollutants that have a negative impact on water bodies, wastewater treatment has attracted a lot of attention throughout the years. In many developing countries domestic and industrial wastewater treatment plants are lacking or not working efficiently for detergents due to the refractory nature of such chemicals. Generally the industrial wastewater is directly discharged into the existing water bodies (drains, nallahs etc.) after primary settling tanks. These refractory contaminants …

ZnO Nanostructure Shape Effects in Photocatalysis of Methylene Blue
Abstract: Nowadays, dyes are used in the food industry, textile industry, paper industry, hair coloring, light-harvesting arrays, photoelectrochemical cells, etc. Most of the dyes are nonbiodegradable, toxic, carcinogenic, and consist of organic compounds. These dye wastages are discharged into water bodies and the environment causing serious hazards to the marine ecosystem as well as the humans extensively. To treat toxic dyes traditional methods such as adsorption, activated carbon, ultrafiltration, and reverse …

Electrooxidation of Methylene Blue over nanoparticle coated DSA synthesized by sol-gel method
Abstract: The current study uses the sol-gel approach to synthesize a new Dimensionally Stable Anode (DSA) covered with nanoparticles. The objective is to enhance the electrocatalytic activity and overall performance of the anodes in treating synthetic industrial wastewater containing reactive dyes. CuO and TiO2 nanoparticles are coated using a thermal decomposition technique on a titanium electrode. The DSA surface gains more surface area and better catalytic capabilities when nanoparticles are coated …
