Anti-nociceptive Potential of Scurrula parasitica: An Unexploited Parasitic Plant
Abstract: Scurrula parasitica (Loranthaceae) is an herbaceous growing shrub parasitic on Dendrophthoe falcata (Loranthaceae) which is itself parasitic on Mangifera indica (Anacardiaceae). Scurrula parasitica is distributed throughout the western ghat region of Maharashtra, some parts of Uttar Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Genus Scurrula comprising of around 91 species, however, only S. ferruginea, S. atropurpurea, S. fusca have been investigated systematically. No such pharmacological and phytochemical data are available on the plant …

Anthelmintic, Neuropharmacological and Analgesic Activities of Extracts from the Aerial Part of Eclipta alba L.
Abstract: The current study was aimed to investigate the anthelmintic, neuropharmacological and analgesic activities of extracts from the aerial part of the plant Eclipta alba L. (Family: Asteraceae). The anthelmintic activity was performed by observing the time of paralysis and the time of death of earthworms Pheretima posthuma compared with the standard drug, albendazole. The range of minimum to maximum time of paralysis and death of albendazole at the conc. 100 …

Cytotoxic, Anthalmintic and Analgesic Activities of the Methanol Extract of Ricinus communis (Family: Euphorbiaceae)
Abstract: The aim of this study was to evaluate the phytochemical screening, cytotoxicity, anthelmintic activity and analgesic properties of the methanol extract (leaves) of Ricinus communis (Family: Euphorbiaceae). The methanol extract of the leaves showed mild cytotoxic activity with the LC50 value 6.456 µg/mL compared to vincristine sulfate (LC50 0.812 µg/mL) using brine shrimp lethality bioassay. The anthelmintic activity was performed by observing the time of paralysis and the time of …

Evaluation of Anthelmintic, Analgesic and Neuropharmacological activity of Heliotropium indicum
Abstract: The present study was performed to evaluate the anthelmintic, analgesic and neuropharmacological activity of the methanol extract from the leaves of Heliotropium indicum. Anthelmintic activity was investigated using earthworm (Pheretima posthuma) & fresh leaf juice of the plant. In anthelmintic activity test, the time of paralysis for fresh juice was range from 7 min 55 s to 26 min 55 s whereas the time ranges for standard drug albendazole was …

Evaluation of Anthelmintic, Analgesic and Neuropharmacological Activity of Merremia hederacea
Abstract: The aim of the present study was to evaluate the phytochemical screening, anthelmintic activity, analgesic properties and neuropharmacological activity of the leaf extract of Merremia hederacea (Family: Convovulaceae). After preliminary phytochemical screening, the leaf extract of Merremia hederacea contain flavonoids, tannins, alkaloids and reducing sugars. Anthelmintic activity test was done by comparing the time of paralysis and the time of death of earthworms Pheretima posthuma compared with the standard drug, …
