Abstract: In this study thermal effect on vibrations of non homogeneous trapezoidal plate has been investigated whose thickness varies linearly in one direction and density varies linearly in other direction. Governing differential equation has been derived using classical plate theory. Rayleigh-Ritz method is applied to obtain the frequencies for the first two modes of vibration. Clamped-Simply supported-Clamped-Simply supported boundary condition is considered with two term deflection function. Effect of various plate …

Thermal Gradient Effect on Vibrations of Non-homogeneous Rectangular Plate having Continuously Parabolically Varying Thickness in both Directions
Abstract: This paper presents the effect of thermal gradient on vibrations of non-homogeneity of the material of plate structures on the vibration frequencies for continuously parabolically varying thickness in both directions. The non-homogeneity of the plate is characterized by taking linear temperature variations in the Young’s modulus and linear variation in density of the material. Vibrational behaviors of non-homogeneous rectangular plates of variable thickness having two opposite edges (y = 0 …

Thermal Gradient Effect on Frequencies of a Rectangular Plate of Varying Thickness in Both Directions
Abstract: An analysis and numerical results are presented for frequencies of rectangular plates of non-linear thickness variation in x-direction and linearly in y-direction with linearly temperature distribution on the basis of classical plate theory. An approximate but quiet convenient frequency equation is derived by using Rayleigh-Ritz technique with a two term deflection function. Effect of the thermal gradient together with taper constants on the natural frequencies of vibration a clamped rectangular …

Effect of Exponential Temperature Variation on Vibration of Orthotropic Rectangular Plate whose Thickness varies Parabolically in Both Directions
Abstract: A simple model presented here is to study the exponentially thermal effect on vibration of orthotropic rectangular plate having bi-direction parabolically varying thickness having clamped boundary conditions on all the four edges. Rayleigh Ritz method is used to evaluate the frequency parameter. The two-dimensional thickness variation is taken as the Cartesian product of parabolic variations along the two concurrent edges of the plate. Yet the method used for the solution …

Design and Fabrication of Tapered Optical Fiber Related Devices
Abstract: By joining conical single-mode fibers, a Mach-Zehnder interferometer with a refractive index (RI) sensor was produced. Sensors were made directly from conical SMFs using a Vytran engine. Compared to the single-taper sensor, the dual-taper sensor turned out to be more efficient. With a 10mm gap between the two taper sites in the dual-taper sensor arrangement, the RI fluctuation was quite noticeable. The principles underlying the design and fabrication of tapered …

Vibration Characteristics of Copper-Aluminium Composite under Different Boundary Conditions: Experiment and Simulation
Abstract: The utilization of vibration analysis on the tapered beam significantly enhances the engineering investigation and design process. It is notable that the width of the tapered beam exhibits variation along its length, while the height remains constant. Experimental modal testing aims to determine modal factors such as natural frequency, damping, and mode shapes. Experimental Investigations of EDM Parameters on Machining Square Blind Holes in Maraging Steels
Abstract: Square blind holes have certain qualities that make them useful in fields where accuracy and efficiency are crucial, like aerospace, automotive, molding, and general manufacturing industries where structural integration is required in precise assembly. It is challenging to machine square blind holes with traditional machining due to geometrical complexity as precision is required for sharp corners which is difficult to get at the corners due to tool wear. Electrical discharge …
