Facile Fabrication and Characterization of Novel Sterculia Gum–graft-poly(n-isopropylacrylamide-co-acrylamide) Hydrogel for Efficient Removal of Cationic Dyes from Aqueous Solution
Abstract: Water is indispensable component of life. Contamination of water is a severe problem that affects human health, aquatic vegetation, and fauna. Aside from various effluents, a variety of cationic dyes generated by industrial effluents contributes significantly to water contamination. In this study, a sterculia gum graft-poly(n-isopropylacrylamide-co-acrylamide) hydrogel was made using a graft copolymerization technique with N,N′-methylene-bis-acrylamide as a crosslinker, ammonium persulphate as an initiator, and tetramethylethylenediamine as an accelerator to …

Effect of Polymer Crosslinking on Drug Release Kinetics
Abstract: In order to improve treatment effectiveness and minimise adverse effects, polymer-based drug delivery systems are often used to produce regulated and sustained drug release. Polymer crosslinking, which alters the structural, mechanical, and degrading characteristics of the polymer matrix, is one of the key elements affecting drug release kinetics. The porosity, swelling behaviour, and rate of degradation of the polymer are all impacted by the crosslinking process, which may be accomplished …

Toxicological Optimization and Assessment of Buccal Films Containing Felodipine Co-crystals to Enhance Bioavailability
Abstract: The preformulation study of felodipine was carried out and it was found that the drug is poorly water soluble. The co-crystals were prepared using three different co-formers sorbitol, ascorbic acid and oxalic acid. The solublity enhancement was observed in combination with sorbitol compared to other co-formers used. The characterization of co crystals was performed like PXRD, FTIR, SEM Analysis. XRD results indicates the amorphous form of the drug. The co-crystals …

Synthesis and Characterization of pH-Sensitive Poly (N-isopropylacrylamide-co-acrylic Acid) Hydrogels for Controlled Release of Doxorubicin
Abstract: pH-responsive polymeric hydrogels have attracted significant attention as intelligent biomaterials for site-specific and controlled drug delivery in cancer therapy due to their ability to respond to the acidic tumor microenvironment. In the present study, poly (N-isopropylacrylamide-co-acrylic acid) [P(NIPAM-co-AAc)] hydrogels were synthesized via free radical copolymerization and systematically characterized to evaluate their suitability for controlled delivery of doxorubicin, a widely used chemotherapeutic agent. The copolymer hydrogels were prepared using N-isopropylacrylamide and …

Carboxymethyl Cellulose-Based Spray-Dried Microspheres: Recent Advances and Applications in Targeted Drug Delivery Systems
Abstract: Microspheres are spherical particles ranging from 1 to 1000 μm, made from natural or synthetic polymers and inorganic materials. Their structure allows precise drug delivery, improving targeted release and minimizing off-target effects. Natural polymers such as starch, chitosan, and alginate are favored for their biodegradability, adhesion, and compatibility, enhancing mucosal interaction and residence time. Microspheres are widely used in site-specific drug delivery, gene therapy, and vaccine administration, improving immunogenicity, extending …

Controlled Drug Delivery of Furosemides Using Floating Tablet System
Abstract: The development of gastroretentive drug delivery systems (GRDDS) has gained interest, particularly for drugs like furosemide with narrow absorption windows in the upper gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Furosemide, a commonly used diuretic, faces challenges due to limited bioavailability and rapid elimination, requiring frequent dosing and affecting patient compliance. This review highlights the formulation and evaluation of floating furosemide tablets as an effective strategy to enhance therapeutic efficacy. Floating tablets allow prolonged …

Gastro Retentive Drug Target System: Its Needs, Advantages, Limitation and Approaches
Abstract: Background: Gastro retentive drug delivery systems (GRDDS) address limitations of oral therapy for drugs with poor solubility, instability at intestinal pH, or narrow absorption windows by prolonging gastric residence and increasing contact with the gastric mucosa. Objectives: To review GRDDS approaches—floating systems, mucoadhesive systems, and super porous hydrogels—with emphasis on formulation strategies and polymer–excipient selection to enhance gastric retention, modulate buoyancy/swelling/adhesion, and ultimately improve oral bioavailability and therapeutic outcomes for …

Molecular Transport Kinetics of Non-Polar Solvents Through AGNP Filled EPDM Elastomeric Composites
Abstract: EPDM Based rubber composites can be used in tank and pipe lining works. In these applications one of the major requirements is that the composite must have good fluid permeability and chemical degradation resistances in their working environment. In order to enhance the performance of EPDM rubber to suit these applications, scientists and engineers are trying to develop novel nanocomposites by incorporating nano fillers. In the present work, to ensure …
