Assessment of the Post-Harvest Chicken Egg Handling Practices in Gamo and Konso Zones of South Ethiopia
Abstract: The study was conducted starting from September to December 2024 in two districts of South Ethiopia with the objective of assessing the prevailing post-harvest chicken egg handling practices, storage materials, duration of storage, and marketing in the rural household. An aggregate of 120 family units were selected randomly from selected peasant area and interviewed by pre-tested questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed by Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS, 2010) …

CFD Analysis: Double Pipe Heat Exchanger, Latent Heat Storage, and BIM-CFD Integration
Abstract: This is a review work covering four research papers. Heat exchangers transport thermal energy across fluids; research in SolidWorks 2014 compared flow simulation to the effectiveness-NTU approach. Slow PCM charging/discharging is a global concern in latent heat storage; research on the influence of flow rate and temperature on melting and solidification durations discovered efficiency in a triple tube heat exchanger design. Advances in computational fluid dynamics for forecasting separated flows …

Thermal Conductivity and Energy Storage Performance of Paraffin Wax-Based Composites Reinforced with Amine Functionalized Graphene as a Nanofiller
Abstract: In this study, amine-functionalized graphene (AFG) was employed as a nanofiller/nanomaterial to enhance the thermal and structural properties of a paraffin wax (PW)-based polymeric composite, formulated as a phase change material (PCM). The PW/AFG composite was synthesized with varying nanofiller volume fractions (0.20%, 0.40%, 0.80%, and 1.60%), and its thermal conductivity, stability, and energy storage performance were systematically analyzed. The incorporation of AFG into the polymer matrix significantly improved the …

Performance Improvement of Standalone Solar PV Pumping System Using Supercapacitor
Abstract: Two of the most pressing issues when it comes to rural communities of arid and semi-arid regions are water shortage and unstable grid electricity. Standalone solar photovoltaic (PV) pumping systems have been introduced as a clean, low maintenance alternative to diesel powered pumps, but their performance is limited by intermittent nature of sunlight and limited energy buffering capacity of conventional batteries. The paper is an investigation into the incorporation of …

Performance Analysis of Graphene Reinforced Sug-ar-Alcohol Based PCM for Thermal Energy Storage System
Abstract: The thermal-conductivity of the Phase Change Materials (PCMs) of thermal heat storage systems is improved by distributing nano-particles in the basic PCM for a faster rate of heat transfer. During the charging and discharging procedures, the heat transfer properties of the newly created Sugar-Alcohol based PCM dispersed with 1.0 wt% graphene nanoparticles in a shell and helical tube storage tank were examined. The helical tube configuration caused the melting and …

Space Pharmacy for Human Space Exploration: Overcoming Drug Stability, Packaging Challenges, Pharmacokinetic Variations, and Developing Innovative On-Demand Therapeutic Solutions for Long- Duration Missions Beyond Earth
Abstract: As humankind prepares for prolonged space exploration and the establishment of lunar and Martian habitats, ensuring reliable access to safe and effective medicines has emerged as a critical challenge. The evolving discipline of space pharmacy addresses the unique pharmaceutical needs of astronauts in microgravity and radiation-rich environments, where drug stability, packaging, and pharmacokinetics are markedly different from conditions on Earth. Traditional dosage forms often undergo accelerated degradation, while altered fluid …

Resilient Shell-Based Networking Frameworks for DTN Environments: Enhancing Reliability and Security across Disrupted and High-Latency Satellite Channels
Abstract: The foundation of DTN, as suggested by the Internet Research Task Force (IRTF), is the definition of a suite of protocols that function in networks with periodic disconnections and long- duration route conditions. A permanent end-to-end channel from the source to the destination is the foundation of traditional IP-based networking. However, DTN employs a store-carry- forward approach that gives intermediary nodes the ability to temporarily hold messages (or bundles) until …

Performance Evaluation of Lithium-Ion Batteries Considering State of Charge and State of Health for Electric Vehicle Applications
Abstract: This study aims to compare temperature-regulated and uncontrolled charging methodologies to determine the most effective approach for optimizing battery performance while minimizing charging duration. The study assesses both constant current (CC) and temperature-controlled pulse charging (TRPC) methods. The battery temperature increases in direct proportion to the applied current during CC charging and cannot be controlled in the absence of external cooling systems. Key performance measures, such as the effect on …
