Sodium benzoate induced reproductive and metabolic changes in Anabas testudineus (Bloch, 1792)
Abstract: AbstractSodium benzoate is an effective antimicrobial agent used as a food preservative, but recently gained attention as the chemical toxicant. The present study investigated sodium benzoate induced male reproductive toxicity and metabolic changes at100 mg/ L concentration in the freshwater fish, Anabas testudineus. Sodium benzoate did not alter the weight of fish but increased the secretion of mucous as the primary defensive mechanism. Reduction in the absolute and relative weights …

Sodium Benzoate and Urea as Promoters in Sillimanite Flotation
Abstract: Sillimanite is an alumino-silicate mineral with the chemical formula Al2SiO5. Sillimanite in general is concentrated by gravity separation methods followed by froth flotation. Hydrophobicity is induced to sillimanite surface by adsorbing surfactant (oleic acid/oleate) molecules selectively and the mineral is collected into froth as concentrate. Other reagents used are; sodium silicate to depress garnet and silica and sodium hydroxide to adjust the pulp pH. In the present study, hydrotropes (sodium …

Floating In-Situ Gel for Gastric Retention Delivery
Abstract: When taken orally, medications with a limited window of absorption in the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) are typically accessible to the extremities due to the partial release of the active component and the brief residence period at the absorption site. Because they prolong the duration of the drug's presence in the stomach, they are made with high density and have the capacity to swell. Because oral fluids go more quickly through …

HYDROTROPES IN SOAP FLOTATION: A CRITICAL REVIEW
Abstract: In this study efficiency of soap flotation when the hydrotrope was used along with the flotation reagents especially collectors for different type of minerals is reviewed. It is known that for flotation of salt type minerals soaps are used as collectors. The soap collectors when used along with hydrotropes as promoters in flotation yielded better flotation efficiency along with the reduced usage of collectors (soaps). Hydrotropes the compounds that soulibilises …

Solubility Enhancement of Paracetamol by Mixed Solvency Method
Abstract: The aim of this research work was to increase the solubility of poorly water soluble drugs by the mixed solvency method. This method is used for the proper pharmacological response. There are some techniques used for enhancing the solubility of poorly water soluble drugs. The recent trend possess that hydrotropic solution having high demand in industry because of some of its ideal features like easily available, having good recovery, does …

Formulation and Evaluation of Momordica charantia by Direct Compression Method
Abstract: The Momordica charantia herbal tablet was prepared by direct compression method. Various excipients used for the preparation of herbal tablet are such as Momordica charantia, MCC, Methyl Cellulose, Starch, and Sodium Benzoate. The anti-diabetic activity of Momordica charantia is due to their active ingredient that is present in their fruit part includes charantin, insulin-like peptide, cucurbitane, glycosides, Momordic in and oleanolic acid. The final tablet undergoes through post evaluation parameters …
